Post & Get with ESP8266

Hi pimatic Community,

I am currently learning C and Java in course of my studies (skills ongoing improvement). Some weeks ago I discovered this great project and started to translate a bunch of tutorials. I am now controlling my lights, rollos and some sockets via pimatic. Because the usage of the rules are quite restricted without accordingly sensors, I want to add some more (ultrasonnic, IR, humidity…).
I decided to use an Arduino for evaluation and communicate with my Raspberry PI. This should be done via Wifi. So I bought an ESP8266 to attach it to my Arduino. At the moment I am using Tasker to set devices or get variables from pimatic. I found some working syntax for that on https://github.com/pimatic/pimatic/issues/347.

Now I try to assume that to my Arduino and ESP8266. Because of my missing knowledge this is quite hard for me. I found some Topics containing communication with the ESP but I dont really get it :D. However, maybe someone could help me solving my issue by posting some working syntax, script or maybe another solution.
I know I should first improve my basics (what I am trying to do), but this drives me crazy.

Even though this project does not incorporate Arduino (esp8266 already has a micro controller which can be used to implement simple sensors) it is a good starting to understand how to interface esp8266 with pimatic. If you want to follow the Arduino route may be one of the getting starting tutorials is any useful, e.g. http://www.instructables.com/id/noobs-guide-to-ESP8266-with-Arduino-Mega-2560-or-U

EDIT: Actually, esp8266 has a 32-bit 80MHz micro-controller inside, much more powerful than ATMEGA328 arduino (8-bit, 16MHz). See also http://makezine.com/2015/04/01/installing-building-arduino-sketch-5-microcontroller/

Hi, I was very busy over the last few month, so I couldnt continue on developing. However I looked through the projects you postet and this helped me really to understand some basic things. I decieded just to use the ESP as you recommended.

I used the code from (https://github.com/Okadesde/esp8266-pimatic-Arduino/blob/master/esp8266/esp8266.ino) to send Data to my Pimatic. But it did not work for me.

Example:

I set a variable named $test for testing.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me fix my code. I dont get the message “connection failed” on my serial monitor so I guess this is not the problem.
