There is no sender connected because I don’t need one.
But I tried the receiver on several gpio’s.
And we already saw in the serial monitor that the receiver does receive my sensors.

The last 3 lines are added when I switched on the rf switch.

@lschip hmm. Strange error. What kind of power supply are you using for your raspberry and are you able to replace the power supply cable by a better one and also the usb cable by a better(thicker) one?
I also think it is a pimatic problem, not homeduino. Your log states [pimatic] and not [pimatic-homeduino].
Maybe a reinstall would help, try that after replacing the cables or if you dont have any cables lying around.

@lschip hm okay so it does detect it but it doesnt make a symlink to it in the dev folder.
I believe i have read somewhere that when lsmod /serial notes 341, it conflicts somehow.

While this is true for the arduino nano, it is not for the lolin nodemcu which runs ch340.
This would make sense because you told the arduino worked(ch341) and the nodemcu(ch340) not. Strange however, that it does say you connected a ch341 device while it should be a ch340 i believe. And please, if anyone knows i am wrong, reply to this thread. Realy no one has an idea?
I am kinda out of ideas. If you have the time and parts, try using a nodemcu v2 and / or reinstall the complete os and pimatic.

If the driver is installed do the commands i mentioned one post ago, and also do
cat /dev/ttyUSB0
and then send some receiver command and see if your terminal outouts anything.This is what it should look like;

Had a lolin board lying around and decided to try it on my raspberry. The thing doesnt even get detected. It also got really hot. Running lsmod while the lolin was connected didnt show me a serial device. After that i connected the original and dmesg showed it connected and it was also connected to serial. I had to press the RST in the nodemcu in order to get it working again. Then hooked up the lolin as a NODE, and then it did send to my homeduino device. Also after pressing RST. I did not follow the driver install tutorial since this updatrs my kernel which i dont want because i have everything working. -
I have the feeling (thanks to Gleno0h) that CH34x.ko is the problem. I read about nodemcu’s that connected but could’t transfer data.
So I tried to compile but found new challences:

I had to make the directory “linux-headers-4.9.70+” myself because it didn’t exists.
I see three solutions, get the compiling work and the result installed, install the os again (but is maybe not a solution) or buy an other esp.

as I understand I need kernel headers to compile. But I don’t have them and can’t download them either. There goes my first solution… -

If it has a ch341.ko file, try that one;
sudo insmod /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/ch341.ko

Cp210 is my nodemcu v2.
Ordering a new esp, which is not a v3 lolin, would probably solve this issue, if not, it is the cable you are using.
