LED Matrix upside down

Could you look up the function void CharOnLED(int ch, int led) and change the line for (int i = 0 ; i <= 7; i += 1) into for (int i = 7 ; i <= 0; i -= 1) and see what happens ?

doesn’t work. after the initialisation (the dots…) the matrix stays at the dots and does not change to any character. it stands still

when using this code

for (int i = 0 ; i <= 7; i += 1)
  {
    lc.setColumn(led, i, alphabetBitmap[ch][i]);
  }
}

the lcd display rotates like that :

it’s not that easy as i thought. guess won’t come around altering the alphabetBitmap.
so for me it is easier by now to flip the pinheaders ^^

Hm… maybe my lcd is correct and yours is the wrong way round
nevertheless i bet it’s an issue that will come up again some day.
i will go downstairs and do some quick soldering now

yes indeed. and maybe a function to add more then 2 matrix devices and a scrolling function and a function to display any text or message received from the pimatic server (over api).
this would be hilarious - and maybe considering the lcd example i postet previously.
maybe you need to use another ledmatrix library?

would be a great thing having some status message on this led and / or lcd display. for example display outdoor sensor temperatures or other meassurements and switch status etc …

I like this idea so much!! hoping some day to be into the matter to participate more. but actually i am not aware of great coding skills still at the beginnings and learning

I am also experimenting with LED matrix displays as I am planning to implement a matrix device driver as part pimatic-johnny-five to drive up to 8 displays in a row with including floating text or generally bitmaps. I ordered three displays, but unfortunately all of them are broken. So I need to wait to get the next batch delivered.
