sorry for that - i used pimatic’s plugin-page to install…
edit: where can i find the appropriate User-Guidelines? Search was not successful at all…
-
0.9.44: Unable to install the 'athome-plugin'
-
@daddycool
https://forum.pimatic.org/search?term=Forum guidelines&in=titlesposts&sortBy=relevance&sortDirection=desc&showAs=postsCode tag makes it better to read hehe.
Anyway, could it be the node version? See this page, and try node 4.6.x, and see if it works; -
@gleno0h i have tried this but unfortunately it’s not getting better though - this is the tail from the npm-logfile
4879 verbose pkgid serialport@2.0.6
4880 verbose cwd /home/pi/pimatic-test

4886 error Exit status 1
4887 error Failed at the serialport@2.0.6 install script ‘node-pre-gyp install --fallback-to-build’.any other idea?
-
@daddycool still not using 4.6.x. Look at your log: “4883 error node v8.11.1”
-
@gleno0h Thanks for your patience Dude, but i thought i’ve been using it because of:
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ nvm alias default 4.8.3
default -> 4.8.3 (-> v4.8.3)then i restarted Pimatic, and tried to install from the plugin page - here’s the Pimatic Errorlog:
error [pimatic]: Error installing plugin pimatic-athome: Error running “./node_modules/pimatic/ppm.js install pimatic-athome@0.9.1 --unsafe-perm”
npm-debug.log:
4883 error node v8.11.1
4884 error npm v2.15.12
4885 error code ELIFECYCLE -
@daddycool try this after installing node 4.6.3;
sudo pimatic.js stop nvm use 4.6.3 sudo pimatic.js start
And see if the plugin installs on its own.
Keep in mind, you dont need to set it is default. We just need to make sure that your node version is/is not the problem.
-
@gleno0h strange - seems that there is no 4.6.3:
nvm install 4.6.3
Version ‘4.6.3’ not found - try nvm ls-remote to browse available versions.
nvm ls-remote
(snippet)v4.5.0 (LTS: Argon) v4.6.0 (LTS: Argon) v4.6.1 (LTS: Argon) v4.6.2 (LTS: Argon) v4.7.0 (LTS: Argon)
That’s why i used 4.8.3 because a friend of mine is using it and it works fine with athome
-
@daddycool okay, then make sure it is using 4.8.x if that works for other people.
-
@gleno0h Thanks Mate, i got it now - but switching the node was not successful so i decided to reinstall the RPi from scratch and then Node 4.8.3 instead of 4.6.2 as described in the installation procedure. For Pimatic i started with Pimatic 0.9.43 but again it won’t start (process dead). Again i gave a try to the 0.9.44 and this one started up.
The very first plugin to install for me was, of course, the athome - and it worked… Afterwards mysensors and homeduino without any problem.
Fine, going on now . -
@daddycool way bad - today i stucked installing the dht-sensor-plugin:
