@lschip had the same issue and had to reflash the nodemcu. I believe, and if i am wrong please correct me, that if you upload a couple of sketches, the storage gets too full. You then need to reflash firmware to empty it or clear the eeprom(look in the examples tab of arduino ide) and upload that before you upload the sketch. Simply put, the esp is full, and you need to empty it, one way or another.

ESPimticRF compiling problem
-
Ok, thanks, I’ll try that…
-
Finaly it worked after clearing the eeprom en program again.
Thanks. -
Mmm, keep having troubles.
The esp’s stopted working.
after several tries uploading the espimaticrf software the esp boots with an ssid like "esp_xxx"where xxx are random numbers and letters.Does this makes sense to anyone?

Still struggeling.
I have three esp-12e nodemcu’s.
After clrearing the eeprom by writing zoros to every adress I complie en upload the ESPimaticRF software.
Then sometimes, after restarten several times or after doing it all over again, I get a espimaticrf ssid.
But most of the time, I cannot connect to 192.168.4.1. Sometime I can, then I can fill in my own SSID and password. But after booting then I again, I get an ip adress, I can ping it (sometimes) but I can’t get the website (for configuring the homeduino).Realy, What do I do wrong, it can’t be that hard.
Or do I have a bad type of ESP’s?Thanks in advance

Ok, here is what I do:
Erasing the eeprom:
Then compile and upload:
.Then reboot and wait for ssid, connect to it and open the webpage 192.168.0.4 and enter my SSID and password :
Then I reboot the esp by unplug and plug it.
Now I sometimes get an ip adres but somtimes not.
If I get one, I can ping to it but I can’t open the webpage for configuration. -
@lschip is it close to a wifi point?
I do have to say that my esp lately has issues too and it does a soft reset after pimatic boots and thus resetting the ssid.
-
Yes, its very close to my wifi pont.
I have a lot of esp’s, most of them are esp8266-01. They all work without any problems and on a far more distance… -
@lschip just to be sure, after entering your ssid, you go to the new ip and not to 192.168.4.1, right?
-
Yes ofcourse
