@Developer: Hi I new to pimatic ans just getting started. So I have already almost everything and I sure pimatic will fullfill my requirements.
But onething I did not get to my brain.
Why should I use the the Wifibox for milight or use the openmili arduino way when this is possibble. http://torsten-traenkner.de/wissen/smarthome/openmilight.phpIs that not the ideal way or Os this just thinking of a newbie…
Greets and good work so far.

@DoktorD check out milightRF24, I guess this is what you want.
-
@philip1986 yes that might one was. But Thorsten does it directly to tue gpio.

Hey folks,
I currently spend some time to improve the UI of led-light. I have been inspired by the suggestions from previous posts (thx @sweebee and @Pimagical), but my CSS skills are bit limited. So help is always welcome!
The intermediate result looks like:
Known issues are:
- is currently only supporting WebKit (chrome, safari)
- is not shown when devices are listed among each other, this happens if window width is low (usually on phones). The curse of it: it is covered by other other UI elements and I have no glue how to move it to top level.
If you like to test if and give some feedback, you can check out the alternative_ui branch. (Here)[http://forum.pimatic.org/topic/1114/updated-how-to-install-a-plugin-from-github] are some instructions how to do it.
-
@DoktorD ok now I know what you mean Yeah is is currently not supported and technically there is nothing stopping you to do it this way with pimatic. The only thing is, that nobody implemented it until now!
-
@philip1986 …your are right…but I am noob…but we will see
-
@philip1986 i have tested it. what i have noticed is, that when i open the color of one device, all other colorbars from all devices are open too.
but for now it looks relly nice.
for toplevel, i remember to use the z-index. i have seen that everywhere, im not a programmer.
-
@p4co86 thx for the hint, I configured just one device during development.
I already tried z-index, without any success as long the popup div in a child of the device list item. But when I move popup div out of the li I mess up the CSS inheritance for the slider components. -
like i said, iam not a programmer. hopefully someone of the other @developer can give a hint to fix the level issue.
ive noticed that when i controll zone 0 wich means all zones, each device should made the same changes i. but thats actually not.
what i mean is for example zone 1 is on, zone 2 also. when i now turn off zone 0 the lights goes off. but in the gui zone 1 and 2 are still on. same for colorchanges.
-
@p4co86 I assume you have Milight, right?
If you setup multiple Milight devices including a “zone 0” device, changes to “zone 0” won’t be reflected on the other devices. I am planning to implement this soon as part of the milight driver.

yes i use milight, thanks for that.
if you find some time maybe you could also implement something for remembering the state after restart. i noticed that all the leds are on after a restart.Great to hear that someone is working and improve this really nice plugin.
Thank you very much.
-
just let you know, when i try to open the colorbar on android (Chrome) it not pops up. I cannot open the colorbar.
-
another thiing what ive noticed is:
the clear button in the colorbar is usefull for those who use a rgbw milight controller. Because you cant set exactly the white color with the colorbar like it was possible with the clearcolor button. hope you know what i mean.
Thanks

+1
@philip1986 I think this is a real drawback for Milight users. Perhaps you should skip the idea of a common UI for all the different LED devices. I think it is better to tailor the UI to the need of the devices. For Wifi370, for example, it does not make much sense to provide a setWhite button as we discussed earlier. For Milight RGBW, however, it is impoortant feature. Another example, is the support CW/WW Milight LEDs for which we need different controls (no dimming by setting a value, but dim up/down, switch CW/WW).

For milight not possible to set white with the New ui. I usw an rgbw controller
-
Yeah, I had also the idea to add an additional button for setWithe and maybe also for other functions like slowly get brighter. But I did have the time to do it until now.

I was also thinking about to allow passing of options to the UI class
setWitheBtn: true
@p4co86 thx for testing, I will fix your findings soon
-
@philip1986 are you still working on that? it would be very nice!
i like your design, but for now its unfortunatlly not useable for me.
Thanks for that.
