Hello everyone,
I feel a bit embarrassed because I have yet to get my pimatic setup to work. I have followed the instructions of koffie and k-jay but I have not succeeded entirely in connecting the arduino to my raspberry pi.
When starting pimatic in the foreground with the following command:
sudo node /home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic/pimatic.js
the startup log messages end with the message: “Connected to homeduino device.”. I don’t remember entirely what other messages I was hoping for, but I remember that there are supposed to be more messages that indicate that the arduino is able to receive and send rf signals.
The make upload command seemed to be executed successfully, nom install pimatic-homeduino seemed to be successful as well, although when I prefixed ‘sudo’ this command actually didn’t execute so well.
At first I thought I had bought a broken arduino nano, and so I ordered a new one. Now I received the new one yesterday, soldered it in place today and ran into the same trouble again. The trouble actually became greater as now the arduino doesn’t connect automatically at startup. I have to disconnect/reconnect it manually by unplugging/plugging the usb cable.
Where do you think I should be looking in order to get pimatic to work well with the arduino?
(the tape is added so simply isolate the poles so they don’t easily short out.)
