Cannot wake up from DeepSleep

Hi there,

I cannot manage to wake up the device with the variable in pimatic, and please tell me a direction where to look for the problem.

The setup is working great with Pimatic and ESP-07 and ESP-12 plus DHT22.
I have tried also from 18650 directly without stabilizer, without DeepSleep working more than 30 hours.

Yes, known bug when using pimatic 0.9
In the 0.9 update, the JSON reply changed from ‘pretty’ to one single line. The code isn’t expecting a one line JSON.
I’ll try to figure some quickchange code later this evening.

I made the changes in Arduino, compiled, clear_flash, upload with esptool, upload the files, configured — twice.

Hm. I need to set up something to debug the conversation between ESP and Pimatic…

So the Variable name is: deepsleep1…

Look for the get_data function in the code and replace with this:

It’s working.

I want to mention, only at powercycle or reset is verifying the deepsleep backdoor variable, not at every communication, it’s very good, cause this way we save some power. I didn’t know this. Just for the record.

Glad to see the workaround is working

And yes, only when starting up AND deepsleep is enabled AND backdoor is enabled there is a check for the backdoor.

I have tried several times, i have changed the code you mentioned.

After clearing eeprom, i setup pimatic variables; 192.168.178.17 and tried http://192.168.178.17

Ive set an variable “DeepSleep” so i made that variable in pimatic “$DeepSleep” and set it to 1.

This is the output then;

IP address: 192.168.178.11
HTTP server started
connection failed
connection failed
Done. Sleeping for 1 minutes

After manual reboot (nodemcu)

For the backdoor variable, is it $DeepSleep or just DeepSleep?
For pimatic address, is it Http:// or just ip?

Hmm, so it seems the variable is without an $, and url is without http://.

After clearing everything again and resetting from the gui, it appears to work;

Yes, you need to enter the IP address or FQDN for pimatic, not a webaddress: https://github.com/koffienl/ESPimatic/wiki/Pimatic
All variables used in ESPimatic are written without a $-sign
