i’ve seen the IR stuff there, but maybe it’d be interesting for those who don’t want to go all out diy and just need an repeater.
It’d be interesting to see if we could pool all the esp effort in the same direction, towards websockets, perhaps? As far as i understand it would allow more real time like traffic and not the overhead of a http connection on each command. I’m currently a bit lacking in the know-how, but thats the long term plan at least.
Same for me. I’m not a programmer but a simple scripter. I have adopted the Arduino ESP8266-pimatic code and gave it my own twist. Looks promising for now, but not finished yet.
For the IR part I’m thinking of adding a ‘sensor’ to the ESP8266 and let the user enter the fully IR code/blast on the web-gui. Pimatic can connect to the ESP8266 (when triggered by a rule) to tell to blast the IR code.
