@s3bb0
for your mentioned device there’s no protocol yet.
what exactly do you want to do, detect only IF it rains or measure the ammount of rain?
for the ammount of rain you could use this device : http://www.reichelt.de/VENTUS-W174/3/index.html?&ACTION=3&LA=446&ARTICLE=132594&artnr=VENTUS+W174&SEARCH=w174
having it here but not in use. works with pimatic but i cannot tell anything more about it.
has been part of the alecto 4500 weather station project from here https://github.com/pimatic/rfcontroljs/issues/13. (having the anemometer here too but it has a limited RF range unfortunately).
if you only want to detect if it rains there’s a solution via attiny85 and a rainsensor plate.
(if of interest, will tell you more).

i´m gonna buy on of this
@s3bb0
godd luck
btw - here’s the device with what i tested the hardware, so you’ll have less brainwork to do (just change to your id and it should work)

Only down side with that device is it doesn’t reset.
so if 5mm rain falls today and tomorrow 10mm it will send 15mm.
it will add up until you reset the device, no problem if you like to know how much rain has fallen since the device was powered on.
but I wanted to know how much rain per day so I worked with variables, $newvalue - $yesterdayvalue = $todaysvalue
Not using it anymore

ok thank you !
working with variables seems to be ok for me.
but why don´t you use this anymore? is there something “bettter” ?
what unit is the value ? mmRain per m² ?
@s3bb0 Don’t know why I aint using it anymore
Maybe it rains to much
Mine is sending mm

Got this rain meter working with following config:
{
"id": "remote-sensor-8",
"name": "Regen sensor",
"class": "HomeduinoRFWeatherStation",
"protocols": [
{
"name": "weather5",
"options": {
"id": 130
}
}
],
"values": [
"rain",
"lowBattery"
],
"xAttributeOptions": []
}
yes, it’s working fine on that config. the only thing i did is to set the variables value to 0 at midnight since the meter counts endless and not in a 24h interval.

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) is emptying their “cups” at 08:00 UTC in order to comply I created the following rules in order to the daily logging at 08:00 UTC.
{
"id": "utc-2",
"name": "utc winter",
"rule": "when its Sunday and its after \"October 24 03:00\" then $Timediff = 1",
"active": true,
"logging": true
},
{
"id": "utc-1",
"name": "utc zomer",
"rule": "when its Sunday and its after \"March 24 02:00\" then $Timediff = 2",
"active": true,
"logging": true
},
{
"id": "rainlogging",
"name": "RainLogging zomer",
"rule": "when \"$Timediff\" = \"2\" and its 10:00 then $Rainday = $remote-sensor-8.rain - $Rainold and after 2 seconds $Rainold = $remote-sensor-8.rain",
"active": true,
"logging": true
},
{
"id": "rainlogging-2",
"name": "RainLogging winter",
"rule": "when \"$Timediff\" = \"1\" and its 09:00 then $Rainday = $remote-sensor-8.rain - $Rainold and after 2 seconds $Rainold = $remote-sensor-8.rain",
"active": true,
"logging": true
}
Or is there a more simpler way in order to activate a rule at UTC?

One option is to set the Raspbian timezone settings to use UTC rather than local time. However, this will apply for all for time settings with pimatic (and other application you may have on that system) .

Hello, it’s quite a topic.
But can someone send me an example of how to do it with the variable. Have the rain sensor and would like to see the day, weeks, month and year values displayed.
Thanks in advance
@karl78 Don’t know if you already solved it, but this is how it looks like in my frontend:
If you still need it, I can post my rules and devices. All are Variabledevices, except Regenmeter which is the Ventus W174 and is configured as HomeduinoRFWeatherStation
