just wanted to tell you my findings about the STX882 SRX882 sender/ receiver that @magic-tune introduced above.
my receiver has the 2256 quartz - so it should be the good one i read somewhere at the forum. well, i have had trouble to receive RF signals with it. don’t know if the receiver has been defect from the beginning or if it is just bad hardware at all. the RF data of my weather station devices were only updated in intervals of approx. 5 to 10 minutes.
also the sender is strange. i am having several RF plugs around with different protocols. the sender was not able to switch some protocols like unitec.
so if you want to have reliable hardware i still recommend the 3400RF especially the RXB6 receiver.

Has anyone tried a transreceiver like this?
http://www.robotshop.com/en/433mhz-wireless-serial-transceiver-module-1000m.html
Distance: 1000m
can this true?
Amazon Price 15€
http://www.amazon.de/dp/B01AFKP9GY
(from china)
This transceiver will not work with the normal 433Mhz stuff. It is a special system with his own encoding and decoding. It is not compatible to manchester code.
But it think i will buy a set. I am interested in the RF chip. eventually it is possible to create an own 433Mhz Transceiver with only the Rf module.
pimatic rocks!!!
updated the hardware tip above at the first post here.
added a chart with from me tested receivers and my findings.
ordered a rxb12 and rxb14 and will test them too.

@leader21 I have tested the range today and compare both receivers. I used 3 different sender for the Test. Here are my results:
+-----------------+--------------+------------+------------+
| | Unitec | ELRO | HOME easy |
| Receiver\Sender | EIM-826 | AB440R | HE844A |
| | 1x 3V CR2932 | 1x 12V A23 | 1x 12V A23 |
+-----------------+--------------+------------+------------+
| SRX882 +Antenna | 15m | 20m | 40m+ |
+-----------------+--------------+------------+------------+
| RXB6 +Antenna | 12m | 17,5m | 32m |
+-----------------+--------------+------------+------------+
| SRX882 -Antenna | 7,5m | 17,5m | 32m |
+-----------------+--------------+------------+------------+
| RXB6 -Antenna | 7,5m | 15m | 32m |
+-----------------+--------------+------------+------------+
+antenna = with antenna
-antenna = with out antenna
it’s very interesting to see the different findings!! thx for your efforts!

@magic-tune have you testet also the effect of Polarisation? I mean sender antenna vertical and receiver antenna horizontal. And which antennas did you use?
pimatic rocks!!!
@Icesory
I used the antennas which comes with the SRX882. My pi (receiver) is placed in the celler 5m away from the wall to my garden, where i did the test. I used the same arduino and the antenna of the receivers was on all test in same and vertical postion. I placed all 5m a mark in my garden and during the test I hold the sender in horizontal position in direction to the receiver. I created for each sender a PIR device and when the signal 3x consecutively arrived I noted it as positiv.
I noticed holding the sender near to the brain can double the range 4 example reach of the unitec-sender rises to 30m.
insane in the brain xD
i tested it with a 17.5 mm wire as antenna and used a rf weatherstation device as sender and placed it after some receivings 5 meters further (first inside the house then in the garden).
my pi is located in the middle of my house, 2m above ground and 2 walls between garden and pi), the srx and aurel did recive nothing out of the garden and even not inside the house!
for finding the best receiver @icesory you should also have a look at the price-performance.
the aurel you are having a look for is relatively expensive with approx 10 euro. am curious if it will bring a performance push

I own 4x of RXB6 setups, and now 5x SRX882 setups.
SRX882 works WAY better for me. I can confirm the 40m+ range with sender - receiver.
I also have Nexa buttons that can be mounted to wall (they do not require batteries, the signal is weak because of that), and SRX882 can pick up those signals much farther than RXB6, I think over 10 meters range with wall in between.
I bought a SRX882 bundle (5x RX, 5x TX, 10x Antenna) from aliexpress.
I just bought this one: http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/2KM_Long_Range_RF_link_kits_w/_encoder_and_decoder
Has somebody experience with this super long-range 433mhz RF link kit?
Thank you
i was not so happy with the signal reception of my RXB6 with a single core wire 17cm antenna.
so i decided to give it a try with a 34cm antenna and i was quite surprised.
the range was really much better an i could receive my weather station without problem from outside the house, before i was only successful once a day or ever worse.
So try it if you have problems, maybe you have success with the longer antenna.
Has anyone tried to connect a NRF905 module?
If yes, any hints for connecting to pimatic?
Greetings
René
looks more like a transceiver for building a cul.
https://forum.pimatic.org/topic/2483/pimatic-maxcul-and-max-cube-with-aculfw-acting-as-cul/2
cannot tell you if this really will work with pimatic-homeduino on 433MHz but i rather guess it won’t.
i’ll get my hands on it now from aliexpress and give it a try either as homeduino or as cul

@webmasterrm this will not work as it is using frequency modulation and not amplitude modulation.
Modulationsmodus: FSK / GMSK
