Tuya/smart life plugin

This has been addressed before but as far as I can see nothing came out of that so I’m gonna ask this again:

Is it possible to add tuya/smartlife devices in pimatic?

It was possible to flash tuya devices with tasmota and use mqtt to control them but the tuya company has blocked flashing of tasmota on tuya devices since the beginning of this year. So that road is closed.

Since I want a tight integration of Google home and pimatic I would love to be able to at least switch on or off these wifi based devices on pimatic.

Anybody an idea?

Hi, there seems a ‘home-assistant’ way to integrate Tuya devices.
Is that what you want; using it with only username and password and adding devices via the TuyaSmart app?

@bertreb as long as I can control them from pimatic and with voice commands through Google that would be awesome.

My previous smart outlets are flashed to tasmota, that way I can control them with pimatic/mqtt and add voice commands with Nora.

But Tuya blocked the flashing of these devices, at least ota flashing is no longer possible. And flashing them with wires to the board is (at least for the devices I have here) nearly impossible because of the way to small soldering pads.

Do you use the TuyaSmart app? and what type of device do you have to use/test?

At the moment I use the smartlife app but switching to tuya won’t be a problem. I’ve got 1 shutterswitch and a couple of smart plugs (with energy monitor) to test.

Ok, the type of app should not be important as long as you use email/password.
Because i have no Tuya device, i can’t inspect the device data.
We could do the remote testing again, if you want.
A smartplug is a good start, i you got one thats already configured (wifi connected and known in the tuya cloud) and have nothing connected to it. That would help.

I can do that, gonna head over to the chat for details and connect a single power plug on the tuya app with a different account, is that ok?
