Fresh install on Rasbian Stretch or Buster?

Hello All.

As i have some trouble installing deconz (for the raspee plugin) on my current rasbian jessie install, i’m in need of making a fresh install of Rasbian.

My quistion goes: Should i go with Rasbian Stretch or Rasbian Buster?
Any issues i will be running into? I am using Homedouino on my current setup.

What is the procedure of installing Pimatic today? Seems like an old guide on the website.

What node version and nvm version are we using nowadays?

Anything else i should be aware of when making a fresh install of Pimatic?

i had no problem with debian stretch and this guide: https://pimatic.teamemo.com/Guide/Getting-Started
but actually i’m running deconz and pimatic as docker containers. on the raspberry. but before this i had a install and just followed the guide.

Thanks, I have tried the official guide, but I have messed up my current image somehow, so I can’t install it. That’s why I want to make a brand new install, to make sure everything is as it should.

Anyone tried the Raspbian Buster with pimatic?

Otherwise maybe I should just go with the stretch install.

yes my fist tryout was with buster …and i was not able to get pimatic work, so i changed to stretch and everything was fine

The situation with Buster is improving as the distribution is stabilizing. To some extent the problem was the early release of Buster for Raspi which resulted in a rather unstable system. Actually, the Raspbian Buster derivate got released before Buster was officially released by the Debian project which is a novum! As a matter of fact updates for buster where released a few times a day some of which caused new issues.
