Hi,
i bought this pool thermometer. Can I integrate it into Pimatic?

FreeTec Additional Wireless Pool Thermometer for PT 250

I can only read the debug-info of homeduino, no protocoll info.

@jens That’s strange. This device had been confirmed to work with the Weather15 protocol. Please try to switch to another channel. Possibly it’ll be detected with a different channel setting.

Please report if it got to the running. Would like to integrate my pool temperature in Pimtaic. A thermometer which runs over an esp is not it?

Hi,
i browse through all 3 channels, but unfortunately no success. At the moment I use rechargeable batteries and will do the test again with batteries (AAA 2x 1.5V). I give feedback!

I don’t know if it’s possible with you, but a friend had three DS18B20 like this in the pool for about a year. The three are connected to pimatic via a sonoff / tasmota / mqtt. It works great, he told me several times. I’ve had a DS18B20 in the outside area for about four years, but not in the water. This one also works since then without any problems. So the information of the salesmen seems to be correct “waterproof”.

@Jens Can you please provide some more samples and the corresponding temperature ~~/humidity~~ readings you get displayed and channel set? The protocol appears to be similar to weather15 but the decoding I tried does not provide sensible temperature/humidity values so far.

EDIT: According to the docs and what I see from the decoded pulse the thermometer does not provide humidity readings

It works on my pimatic 2 thermometer (in a new house with over 2 floors with reinforced concrete ceiling, distance 7m) and this pooltermometer (distance 1m) on homeduino!

@jens Thanks for providing the detailed message logs which was very helpful. I have created a new protocol “weather20” which works according to the messaging test. There is only one derivation that messages for Channel 3 decode as channel 1. I am not sure why this is, but we can look into this at a later stage. If you want to give it a try you can install rfcontroljs from the github repo as follows:

cd /home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic-homeduino/node_modules/homeduino/node_modules/
sudo rm -rf rfcontroljs
sudo npm i pimatic/rfcontroljs --unsafe-perm

Then restart pimatic
