Install Sqlite3 on nodeV8 problem

I made a new installation with pimatic 0.9.43 and node 8.15.0.
The installation of sqlite always run into an error- I have tried several installations I found in the forum, but all unsuccessful.
I always get the same error.

i couldn’t get it running too - but this one here helped me out, so try install the 0.9.44(a) beside. I strongly recommend to install sqlite3 BEFORE installing Pimatic

@smally Why are you installing sqlite manually? It gets installed during startup if not existing (version 3.1.3. instead of 4.0.2, though).

@michbeck100 I started with automatic installation of sqlite3 as part of the Pimatic installation and got the described errors.
Then I reviewed the version history of sqlite3 on npm, and only found support for Node 8 in version 4.0.2 and later. Assumed this is the reason of all the problems, deleted sqlite3 and installed version 4.0.2 manually. Should version 3.1.3 of sqlite3 also work with Node version 8?

The reinstallation of pimatic with note 8 on a fresh raspian OS was also unsuccessful.
First I installed node 8 (https://nodejs.org/download/release/v8.15.0/node-v8.15.0-linux-armv6l.tar.gz)
For the next steps I used the process of michbeck100 (thanks for the description).

1. WARN means warning not error
2. Please do not run npm audit fix as this might install libraries that don’t work
3. ENOGIT means ErrorNoGIT and No git binary found in $PATH means the same. You have to follow the installation instructions from https://pimatic.teamemo.com/Guide/Getting-Started, too.

So yes you forgot to install git.

I had the same problem an ended up by installing it manually.

Thanks for the quick answers. After installing git, pimatic also ran until sqlite was installed, but now I’ve been at git for 30 minutes.

@smally what type of raspberry pi are you using? Compiling SQLite takes some time. I did this on on a model B and it also took quite a while

@smally there’s a raspberry 1 and raspberry 3 model b+. If it’s the first and older version than it’s normal that it takes so long

@michbeck100 It’s a raspberry pi 1 Model B+ with 4 USB Slots and an extended 40 pin IO connector

@smally then just leave it running until it’s finished compiling. I just left mine over night 😜

No, I don’t. But its obvious that there is a permission problem. Maybe it helps if you paste your complete installation procedure to a gist.

Besides that I think manually installing dependencies won’t work properly anyways, because when pimatic installs its plugins its currently using npm v2 which uses a different directory structure than the npm version that comes with node 8.
What do you think @mwittig, @sweetpi, @leader21?
