Harmony Plugin seems to stop working after the last Harmony update
Hey,
guys who else is using the harmony plugin? Some days ago I got the latest update for my Hub. Now I get only timeouts when I try to control my TV via pimatic. Can someone confirm this?
I reinstalled the plugin, but I doesn’t help. Via device search no Harmony stuff gets found. Normally most of the found devices where the Harmony one…
hi! i’m not now using the plug-in - but i’m planning to do it. but: i don’t know if my hub got an update (where do i get a notification about htis?), but the android app got a update 10 days ago. this could be an indicator that something in the interface changed.
You get no notification. When there is an update available and you start the harmony app, it will be updated automatically.
Could be due to a ‘bug’ in the newest firmware.
I found this article (it’s in dutch, could use google translate ) about the issue.
In short, the latest firmware denies access from the local network…

"Harmony Hub Firmware Update Fixes Vulnerabilities
Logitech recently released a firmware update for Harmony hub-based remotes that addressed some security vulnerabilities brought to our attention by a third-party cyber security firm. Logitech takes our customers’ security seriously, and we work diligently to fix these kinds of issues as they’re discovered.
Last week we began rolling out this update. We are aware that some customers using undocumented Harmony APIs for local home control were affected as a side-effect of our closing these vulnerabilities. These private local control APIs were never supported Harmony features. While it is unfortunate that customers using these unsupported features are affected by this fix, the overall security of our products and all of our customers is our priority.
We urge customers to update to this latest firmware, version 4.15.206. Please see this article for complete directions on checking and updating your current firmware version: https://support.myharmony.com/how-to-update-your-firmware

Ok so looks like they have closed the old inofficial xampp API but there still is the “new” inofficial websocket API.

However I am not sure how long this will work then if they don’t make it official.
I currently don’t want to “brick” my harmony to implement websocket support for the plugin.
Let’s see if the library I’m using will be updated

I will try to downgrade the hub. See here. The last firmware was okay for Logitech for over one year I think. Then it will continue to work for me as long as Harmony will revoke their strict local blockades…

Got it working again, my hub is back on 4.15.193 
Seems Logitech hears to his community this time. They provided a new firmware today which especially opens the XMPP API again. It’s at the end a dev firmware, but it works for me!
If you try to install and the XMPP option at the buttom of the list is missing, as Logitech explains here then you have to reinstall the MyHarmony software on your PC. This helps me to get the option and update the hub on the new dev firmware. Or you will wait for the regular update which will come in future.
