First of month triggers every day
Hello community, I have a rule that should calculate the monthly power consumption at the 1st of every month. Unfortunately it triggers every night. Why?
When its "first day of month 00:00" then set $stromverbrauch-vormonat = $stromverbrauch-monat and after 5 seconds set $stromverbrauch-monat = 0
Have a similar rule which looks like this and for me it works.
when its "1st of month" then ...
I think the 00:00 can be deleted, because the statment 1st of month triggers add 00:00 by itself.
@saxnpaule I am not sure this works as expected. We had earlier discussions on the matter which also contain suggested work-around solutions.

@mwittig Yes I found these threads before. And I thought my solution was one of the working suggestions.
Nevertheless, one reason more to hurry up with the datetime plugin.

Of course, it’ll be possible to have a specific solution like providing attributes for the first/last of the current month. However, it would also be nice to have a solution along the lines of “chrono”, the natural language expression parser we use as part of pimatic-cron. Are you aware of a tool which can parse such expressions out of the box? Another solution is to extend the “chrono” parser, as it provides hooks for custom parser add-ons.
