HomeduinoRFButtonsDevice instead of HomeduinoRFSwitch

Currently I use HomeduinoRFSwitch with protocol ‘switch2’. One switch controls simulantiously serveral lamps. Sometimes there are rf transmission problems and only some lamps go on. With HomeduinoRFSwitch I can not press the ON side twice, I have to press first OFF and the ON again which is bad because all devices which were already ON went OFF and probably ON again.

Instead of a switch I would like to use 2 buttons for On and Off like on hardware remote switches. This would looks more natural and also allows to press the Off or On button twice in case of failures of rf transmission.

I tried to use HomeduinoRFButtonsDevice which looks good from the GUI but I can only switch on the device but not off.

May be this is not implemented, then please transfer this issue to a feature request.

@heizelmann why dont you use a rule?

When on is pressed then turn yourlamp on and after 1 second turn yourlamp2 on etcetc?

With homeduino i think it isnt possible to switch everything simultanously. However, there is a significant improvement if you either use an arduino or esp8266 with espimaticrf(wifi).

Or, you could switch over to a full wifi setup.

@gleno0h It is only one channel I switch. There are only several receicers listen on the same channel. The problem exists even when it is only one device.

Because HomeduinoRFButtonsDevice does not work as desired I use DummyButtonsDevice and two rules for switching a Homduino switch. In total, it needs two devices and two rules instead of one simple device. Not nice but it works😕

Another solution might be to use two HomeduinoRFButtonsDevices for “on” and “off”.

@mwittig I did this (see my first post) but didn’t catch how to switch off, both buttons switch on with protocol ‘switch2’
