Optional entries in device config schema

Hey developers,

Does anyone know how to define, that a config property in a plugins config schema should be optional without default value?
It seems that pimatic always complains about a missing property.

pimatic-hap - pimatic HomeKit bridge
pimatic-echo - Amazon echo integration
pimatic-dash-button - Amazon dash button support
pimatic-alarm - pimatic alarm system

have you tried required: false instead of default: xxx ?
