Hello,
as I am getting more and more into pimatic, I realize what an amazing tool it is. When I initially set it up, it was supposed to be just for testing purposes, though. So when I created a large number of devices, I did not name them the way I now figured would be best.
Is there a way to edit device IDs without having to edit config.json? And if not, is this possibly a planned feature for future releases?
Example: when I first set up pimatic, I wanted to test the system to see whether or not I like it (because I had used another system, fhem, before and just could not get into it). So I did not consider what would be the best “syntax” for my device names and rather just named them like living room (for living room remote controlled outlet 1) and bed room (for bed room remote controlled outlet 1).
Now that I am getting into it more and use more devices (for example, DHT sensors in combination with ESPimatic), this syntax does not make much sense. New devices are named something like Bedroom Upstairs DHT (which is the name, and then ID automatically would become bedroom-upstairs-dht), which makes it much easier to use these devices when creating rules;
I wouldn’t have to figure what bedroom might be (outlet 1 / outlet 2 / dht sensor??), but rather have an easily identifiable name/id.
When I edit any name, the id field is greyed out and cannot be edited. I could shut down Pimatic, edit config.json and restart, but maybe there is a better way, or at least will be in the future, so I can safe myself some work ^^
Thanks in advance
