searching for ATHOME example

Hi, I’m new to Pimatic and I’m deeply impressed. Thanks to all the developers who have worked on that!

I brought my system up and running; it reads in values from an ATMega chip using the Athome plugin. Now I would like to send out values from pimatic to the ATMega. As a first step I would like to send out a plain FS20 command. I defined a device according to the given docs but I don’t know how to connect this device with e.g. a button. Somehow the changeStateTo: method must be called …

Does anybody have an example showing this? And did somebody already tried to implement something like an AHActorValue, i.e. something that sends some pimatic variable out via the serial port?

Would be of great help. Thanks a lot in advance …

I don’t know the athome plugin but normally you add a device to the config. And this device creates a see able entry in your Webbrowser. You must simple edit the page where you want to have the device.
Click on the gear in the right top corner. Then click on “Add new item”. Now you see a list with all existing devices. Click on the + at the device you want to add.

I have see, that the FS20 is an RF switch plug. Have you connected a RF transmitter to the arduino? What do you want to do exactly with this plugin?

For RF messages we have the pimatic-homeduino plugin.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I’ve gone the way you described now and I see, that there appears aswitch that I can handle and my ATMega gets a string great.

That’s a good starting point for my next try with AHActorValue.

I’m already using a kind of RF network (ATmega chips with RFM12 radio modules) already for quite along time that is sending all its data to an emoncms.org installation (on another Raspberrypi). Now I have setup a receiver module also with RFM12 and ATMega serially connected to the Raspberrypi that collects all values and reports it … now very nicely to Pimatic. What I need now is the way out of Pimatic into the RF network to set target values etc. This is why I need some kind of actor.

Does this make sense to you?

I have looked at the plugin and have seen, that it is for 868MHz transmissions.

The plugins are restricted to the devices (classes) are implemented. So you must look which device class brings the necessary actions for you.
Sorry, that I have no experience with the athome plugin.
But it looks like there are no way for you purpose. Best is to contact the dev of the plugin

Hi, I’ve send an eMail to Dirk Fischbach with my questions. Meanwhile I tried to adapt the ZWay dimmer class (just added it to the athome.coffee and slightly adapted it and also adapted the athome-device-cofig-schema.config) but I did not have success: Although I get no error while compiling I cannot add the defined device to one of the pages. It does not show up at all.

I sent my changes to Dirk, may be he has an idea. Thanks so far and: happy easter!

The plugin must return a object for your device.
Normally is some where a list with all devices. In this list you must add your new device.
