Create a switch and dimmer in one device

Hey guys,

I’m working on the RfxCom Plugin and I want to create a device like this, but without the color.

just a switch and a brightness controller. I’ve looked through the code but extending the dimmer class would only give me the dimmer, and extending the switch class would only give me the switch. Now I can create a custom template for this… Is this the best solution? I thought maybe I missed an option in the dimmer device class which enables the switch.

@Tim Right now you need to implement your own device UI template and assign it to your device class. A good example of implementation as far as I can tell is pimatic-hue-zll written by @markbergsma as it uses Jade and provides various templates for LED lights.

Have a look at HueZLLDimmableLight which is probably exactly what u need (screenshot below). Another example to look at is pimatic-led-light which does similar things without using Jade. However, my recommendation is to follow along the lines of pimatic-hue-zll as the code is cleaner as far as I can see.

EDIT: It is planned to integrate templates for LED Lights into the core one day. There pending feature request for this, but I don’t expect this to happend in the short term. https://forum.pimatic.org/topic/1536/add-led-device-types-to-pimatic-core
