Ikea Tradfri - LED Bulbs compatible with Hue and Osram

Hey guys!
Yesterday I learned about a nice product development from IKEA called TRADFRI (don’t ask me how it is spoken )

For sure, this will bring some competition into the market. Let’s see how these bulbs compare to others wrt to light quality.

Well, that’s not a big surprise to me. It is possibly Philips trying to protect its eco system against growing competition. I think they did similar in the past but promised to revert due to massive user complaint. If Hue compatbility is the major concern you may possibly find other 3rd-party devices which suit your needs - see also http://iconnecthue.com/supported-devices/#3rdparty

Hi everyone,
I know it’s an old topic but looking everywhere on the Internet and no answer or question but i think i’m not the only one who try to connect Ikea TradFri bulbs on Osram/Ledvance Gateway.
As explained, both communicates based on the Zigbee LightLink standard.
But how to add and Ikea Tradfri on Osram Lightify Gateway ?
Here is the answer :

1. Be sure that your Osram gateway have the last firmware installed.
2. Be sure that your Ikea Bulb is under at least 1.2 Firmware. If you buy recently there is no problem, but if it’s an old product, unfortunatly you need to update it with the ikea TradFri gateway…May be done with a friend gateway.
3. You need to reset to factory default your ikea Tradfri bulb. To do this toggle 6 times the bulb. At then end of this procedure, bulb switch off for few seconds
4. Use your Osram lightify app on Android or Apple and add the Ikea bulb like you do for Osram Lightify lights. Follow the procedure describe on screen by swithing off and on bulb ans launch the scan.
5. Lightify App will found “Device01”. Juste rename it as you want . It’s done, now you have an Ikea Bulb on your lightify system

If you want to connect other bulb, make the same procedure for each bulb you want to add.

And if you want to connect Tradfri bulb to Hue gateway, make sure the bulb is ON before you do a ‘scan for new devices’ in the hue app.
