Hello,
i want to buy some roller shutter switches. Can anyone tell me what models easily run with Pilight and Homeduino? With the best cheap of course.

guess you mean PIMATIC and homeduino
i’m using the CMR500 from Intertechno. Working very good using switch 4 protocol and having a good range. Costs about 25 to 30 Europimatic v0.9 has been released!

Thanks for your quick response.
I mean really Pilight and Pimatic.
Since I still used at the moment Pimatic with Pilight. But I want to change later on Homeduino. Are there radio roller shutter switch with switch on the device?
So switch, which you also can sometimes turn by hand?
So far I could not find unfortunately."Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect." 09-28-2003, LINUS TORVALDS (http://www.nytimes.com)

shutter switches with integrated manual operation - well if you find some tell me
i was using the REV iComfort system before i switched over to pimatic and Intertechno. the iComfort system has these switches but works on 868 MHz. if you want to manually switch your shutters you will have to use a wall switch like ywt8500 from intertechno in combination with the cmr500. this works pretty good herepimatic v0.9 has been released!

How do they work ywt8500 switch? So you can use a shutter switch? But because you really need two ways."Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect." 09-28-2003, LINUS TORVALDS (http://www.nytimes.com)

@Thrusty
i just sent you some information on the pvt. chat.
but just a ashort explanation - the ywt has two pushputtons. if you press the upper half of the switch it will switch devices on or rollers up, if you press the lower half of the switch it will shut devices of or rollers down.pimatic v0.9 has been released!

Hi, i have found this one:
Details zu Funkempfänger zum nachrüsten f. Rolladen Jalousie & Markisenmotoren
With following description:
Eine Besoderheit des Gerätes ist die Anschlußmöglichkeit eines drahtgebundenen Tasters. Damit kann das Gerät wahlweise mit dem Funksender oder mit einem fest instllieretm Taster bedient werden.Do you know this device? If this unit is used with Pimatic?

sorry, don’t know this device but sounds interesting!
the question is what RF protocol this device is using
but there should be a possibility to implement it.pimatic v0.9 has been released!

I’m currently thinking about a solution to the same problem: I already have wall switches for my two living room shutters. They are quite nice to use, including sunlight detection by “suction cups” on the window - so I’d like to keep them, but also switch the shutters using Pimatic.
I ordered two Intertechno CMR 500 and already set them up in Pimatic (thanks to the fantastic job of leader21 - thanks a lot!). They’ll arrive tomorrow, but now I’m struggling about how to connect them. Could I wire the old switch and the RF switch together to give the up and down commands to the shutter? Couldn’t that be a problem for the switch that’s not sending the command (I don’t want to fry them…)? Here’s a picture of my current switch:

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? I don’t really fancy a RF switch like the YWT-8500 that I have to change batteries in every once in a while (and I’m losing the sunlight functionality)…

Well the problem is if you wire your existing switch and a cmr 500 you could damage your shutter motor. Imagine what happens if pimatic signals the cmr via RF to raise the shutters but someone is pressing the down button on your manual switch. The motor will power up and down at once and you shorted it that way. Say goodbye to your shutter engine … maybe this can be solved via some kind of relais? If one channel is powered the other channel cannot be switched.
The sunfunctionality maybe can be achieved with other devices. there’s a light sensor from intertechno called ITDS-50 - on Amazon prime in Germany for appr. 25 Euro incl. shipping costs.
maybe this can be used with some rules to control your RF shutter devices.just some thoughts.
another thing you mentioned is the battery change. the ywt switches are powered with 12v batteries. i’m using them for half a year now and the batteries are still full ('cause pimatic does the most switching work ) so don’t worry about battery change.

I guess you’re right. I only thought about the switches, but the motor taking damage is the greater risk. So thank you for that line of thought.
Tomorrow I’ll wire up the RF switch only, and then maybe add another physical RF switch like the YWT-8500 later (or even try the RF switch Thrusty found on eBay).
Btw, it should be possible to close the shutters only for 3/4 by timing it right, is that correct? So if my shutters take 15 seconds to close, I should be able to send the close command and 10 seconds later another one to stop the motor, so that might also make for a nice “give me some shade inside” rule… -
If you are still desperate to know the detail of roller shutter you can contact with the adviser of Sydney Shutter for the details. I should do it first.

@MackDesuza Hi, I looked at this page, but could not find this special Shutter Switch with radio and button.

Good point. Thanks for mentioning it. I plan to build mysensors nodes for the switching. In that case it would be possible to connect the manual switch to inputs of the Arduino, instead of connecting to the motor, and let the Arduino do the switching via the relays, and take care of exclusive switching.
I also consider buying something like cmr-500 instead. It would be cool if there were inputs for a manual switch, indeed.

@poeml Hello, you should note that the contacts of a switch are only for buttons and the shutter can not be stopped. When you close the buttons of the roller shutter moves always to the up or down. This can not stop somewhere in the middle to him.
Did you read this?
