Problems by using the telegram-plugin

Hello,

i will use the telegram-plugin. But it doesn’t work.

I have createst the bot. ok.
I have received a token. ok
I have send a message to my bot. ok
And now, i write in the browser the adress http://… with my token! And the answer is: {“ok”:true,“result”:[]}

Why?

Something you may also try is the following:
using your telegram client (e.g. on your mobile phone)

1. send /start to your bot
2. send a random message such as hello world
3. check again using the URL

You will need to show me the exact URL you use to (I assume) retrieve the chatID from the bot if this doesn’t work
(As the token is sensitive information, perhaps it is best to send it in a private message). Likely there is an error in the URL (https://…) in this case, as all other users have been successful using this method as far as I know. This problem is not caused by Pimatic-Telegram as you are still in the prerequisite stage.

The {“ok”:true,“result”:[]} cames by me also in the first try.
I think when you do it like Dan says it will work.

to obtain your chatId you can also send the message /my_id to the bot @get_id

Have you tested it with bot @get_id how rikki78 says? That works for me too.

In telegram: @get_id
Telgram shows me a list of all commands.
I write in telegram: / my_id
It comes “Unrecognized command.”

You have to write “/my_id” not “/ my_id” (without space).
You can also write /help

first search for the bot @get_id (in contacts)
then /my_id to that bot

so, it works. My mistake was that I did not activate my bot. I did not know how to do that.
