Implement Raspberry Pi with Temperature/Humidity Sensor

Hello,

I have an explicit Pimatic instance. Now i would like to measure the humidity in a room. For this i have a another RPi with a DHT22 Sensor.
How can i implement this RPi/Sensor to controll a Switch (humidity > 50% then fan on/off) in my Pimatic instance?

Do you use the Pi with the DHT only for temp/hum measurement?
Wouldn’t it be much more comfortable to use a RF sensor?
I use multiple TFA 303200 for this scenario.

If not, you could call the REST API of the other Pi e.g. via curl

yes, i use the Pi with the DHT only for humidity measurement!
Because Pimatic-“Server” and “humidity measurement Pi” located in different rooms. I want get the Values on the Pimatic-Server. Curl seems like a possible way to do this. Is there an Interface for curl results to pimatic (to define Rules)?

i would recommend to use espimatic instead of running a complete pi for measuring temp / hum.

for that you need an esp8266 with 4MB flash such as Wemos D1 or NodeMCU or ESP12

for the actual setup you can use the pimatic api (if using pimatic on both pi’s) to push the data from one pi to the other. another possibility would be to write the dht data into a logfile, then mount the directory with the log in it on the pimatic pi and read the data with the logreader device.

another possibility would be to curl the logfile or maybe the dht sensor directly with a shellsensor device.
