Change State of a pimatic variable

I’m writing the plugin Chronotherm and I would open and close a valve at the arrival of degrees.
How can i do to change an external variable to my plugin?

Example:
Make a switch, created with dummyswitch device and change it true or false from my plugin?

Some @developer can help me please?

I’m using mythermostat plugin to turn on/off my vaillant heating with a shellSwitch. The plugin has two rule actions for on and off in the config part.
Would be great to have this function in your plugin.
