@Tim-Hartelo well, before i posted i have checked if there was an api but i cant find it. So thats a bummer but the upside is that you can set temperature via their website.
However, since i dont have that thermostat, my helping hand stops here.
The way you can control it is through bash scripting in combination with curl.
Curl is some sort of headless browser. With google chrome you can record your events and copy it as a bash script.
If you are skilled enough you can create bash cases. Those are going to be your commands.
I have a essent e thermostat, you might want to look that up on this forum because it works the way you need.
