Would have been nice, but it is like it is. I decide now to move from Echo to Google Home. Maybe I will have a look into creating a Google assistant plugin. But not in near future. The solution I mentions above works really well.

implementation of google home like ha-bridge does would be great @michbeck100 . If you like, I can send you a google home mini for testing.

@daniel-böber ha-bridge is working then?
pimatic-hap - pimatic HomeKit bridge
pimatic-echo - Amazon echo integration
pimatic-dash-button - Amazon dash button support
pimatic-alarm - pimatic alarm system

I have not tried that yet @michbeck100 . Will do it this week and report here, if it´s realy able to connect as hue native bridge in google. My real Hue bridge does work. But as you said, it connects over the hue cloud service!

Do you have a Hue Bridge Gen 1 (round) or Gen 2 (angular)?

@ortin said in Google Assistant - Start building Actions on Google:

gen2
i have also used ha-bridge before for alexa. but now we have the pimatic plugin -
I have used ha-bridge when I just got my Google Home, because at that moment you could still link a service locally. Now Google has demanded that all services go through the cloud (because the Assistant is not meant for local networks).
So at this point to have a plugin I think we need some kind of cloud service.
Personally I have plugged a Samsung Smartthings bridge in between, with virtual HTTP devices.

okay, i checked it and yes, they changed the way google assistant connects to hue api. there is no way to connect to a local device at the moment

I’ve had an idea for a while now to create some kind of cloud service like IFTTT, but for Google Home -> Webhooks only, but sadly I still haven’t had the time to even look into this. But who knows, maybe I should just get started sometime…
-
I´m not into this @FrostedKiwi but it should be possible to create some kind of tunnle between a plugin and a created cloud service to only talk to pimatic. If this would work, there would be only a minimal risk of getting hijacked from “outside”

I just want to share this:

I will try this the next days and report back here. sounds promising so far -
Great!! looking forward to reading your findings @Daniel-Böber
