Hello everybody,
I mentioned my issue with the dash button I recently got in another topic.@mwittig asked me to open a new topic for that.
So I bought one of amazons dash button a few days ago.
It is one of the JK29LP types. Setting it up with the amazon android app was troublesome at first, but then I found out that JK29LP erase WiFi data if you do not choose a product to buy within the app.
So I blocked the buttons outgoing connections in my router, before I closed the app.
After that I was able to detect the dash button device in the “discover devices” mode, when closing the button.
Happily I wrote a simple rule just to toggle a switch with a buttons push. But unfortunately the button refused to work. Instead it simply flashes its white light for abt 30 seconds and than doing nothing again.
So I went to the “discover devices” mode again…and there you are, the dash-button showed up again.
And out of nothing it suddenly switched the light on, another quick push let me turn the light of again.
After the search for devices was done…The button refused to work again.
Next I tried ist again and figured out that the dash button doesnt allways show up in the discovered devices, but whenever it does I can switch it for a short time
Here’s the plugin "config
{
"plugin": "amazing-dash-button",
"active": true
}
],
I know the installation documentation says: " If the device discovery or the interaction with dash-button does not work as expected, provide the IP address associated with the network interface which shall be used to listen to ARP requests needs to be set."
But I have no idea what its about.
I tried my routers IP…Same result
libpcap is installed btw
And here’s the device config
},
{
"id": "dash-1",
"name": "dash-1",
"class": "AmazingDashButton",
"macAddress": "ac:63:be:6b:0a:bd"
}
],
Might just be an issue about the network interface thingy…If so, just help me out what to put in there. If not, help
