[solved]Homeduino: no debug but receiving via screen sudo screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200

Hi all,

I can’t get my homeduino running with pimatic.
Today I did a fresh reinstall and wanted to test the homeduino.

I do not get any errors when starting pimatic and the log says:
info [pimatic-homeduino]: Connected to homeduino device.
However, I do not get any debug messages after setting “debug” in the options. Also tried setting debug and loglevel in the config file.

Strange thing is, I get the RF receive info from the homeduino device if I use the screen command…
Must be a pimatic problem then I think.

well if you receive the debug data when you start pimatic manually it is working though.
check the settings section of your config.json, there you can set the logLevel to debug.
maybe this will help.

    "debug": true,
    "logLevel": "debug"

oh sorry, i see you already tried this.
strange thing! can you post the debug data from the logfile pls?
you can use pastebin.com for that.

thanks for the above tips.
Today I started with a complete fresh instal of raspbian and pimatic. I had the same error and then however continued to autostart pimatic.

Since then I cannot start pimatic any more (see my thread in “General”).

I will get back here, when I solve my autostart problem.

Ok, I am back with my problem. Pimatic is now running as a service.

Pimatic still tells me

info [pimatic-homeduino]: Connected to homeduino device.

However, I don’t receive anything from the homeduino in pimatic.
If I run “screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200” however, I receive the following:

This is an old no-name remote I found at home and want to use for testing (also have four wall plug switches).

I still have no idea, why I don’t receive anything from homeduino…

Ok. I just found the solution myself. I had added

  "enableReceiving": true,
  "debug": true

in the homeduino section and it imediatly worked.

I followed the guide here (which does not mention this options!!)

since homeduino is used mainly for rf communication, you are right, this is already set by default.
