[solved]pimatic 0.9.35 won't start - reinstall node

Hi,

when trying to start pimatic, I get the following error:

which node version are you at?

➜  pimatic-app node --version
v7.0.0
➜  pimatic-app

There’s the problem, currently supported is 4.6

yep! if you do not need to run node 7 for any kind of reason, downgrade to v4.6
you can use the tool n to switch between the node versions if you need to.

Now I tried to install node according to the steps here (I have a version 2 pi) but all I get is this:

➜  local node --version
[1]    4969 segmentation fault  node --version
➜  local e

Most likely the wrong architecture chosen for raspberry. For the pi 2 I think you need 32 bit arm v7 as not all supporting components work yet in arm v8

i guess you need to deinstall all node versions first and then install node again.

1. Check where NodeJS is installed: whereis node. This should output the path of node (for example /usr/local/bin/node).
2. Remove all binaries and the node_modules folder: sudo rm -r /usr/local/bin/node /usr/local/bin/npm /usr/local/lib/node_modules
3. Check that NodeJS is gone: node --version. It should output command not found.

then install node 4

reinstall with
wget https://nodejs.org/dist/v4.6.2/node-v4.6.2-linux-armv7l.tar.gz -P /tmp
cd /usr/local
sudo tar xzvf /tmp/node-v4.6.2-linux-armv6l.tar.gz --strip=1
