Switch on light when comming home
Hey,
i don´t know how to build the following rule:
When i come home late at night the switch A should be switched on.
The switch only sould be turned on when it is dark outside ( using the sunset plugin??)
I think the rule could be started with the presence of my smartphone (using ping plugin - already installed and working)
=> When smarthome is in the WLAN = I´m at home
The rule should only start when I was absent previously
Any ideas?

You could try
first rule
When it is [after sunset or before sunrise] and my phone is present and $variable is 0 Then turn on light and set $variable to 1
second rule
When my phone is absent for 2 minutes and $variable is 1 then set $variable to 0
2 minutes because when yout phone becomes absent for example disconnecting dsl in the night the light are still off when you are home.
In this case you have to use or because at 00:00 the day starts new so if you use
after sunset and before sunrise
The rule never can be true.

I’m using a similar kind of rule, to switch on the lights when I arrive at home, and switch on the lights when it gets dark
if phone is present and [it is after 30 minutes before sunset starts or before 30 minutes after sunrise ends]
then dim livingroom-bay to 25% and dim livingroom-table to 25% and switch livingroom-frontleft on and switch livingroom-rearleft on
Now my lights go on when I’m already home and it gets dark and also when I arrive late at night.
However I have one major issue. When it’s midnight and i’m home the lights also go one, even thou I have put them of earlier. I think this is because the rule is triggered again at midnight by the it is after 30 minutes before sunset starts or before 30 minutes after sunrise ends part of the rule.
Also it would be nice if one could say something like
it is between 30 minutes before sunset starts and 30 minutes after sunrise endsAt 00:00 the day starts new.
So if xou have a rule like this:
If it is before sunrise then turn on light
The light goes on at 00:00 because it is before sunrise.
Use a variable and say
If phone is present then set $variable to 1
If phone is absent then set $variable to 0
The say
If phone is present and variable is 0 and [it is after 30 minutes before sunset starts or before 30 minutes after sunrise ends]
then dim livingroom-bay to 25% and dim livingroom-table to 25% and switch livingroom-frontleft on and switch livingroom-rearleft on
This should work because the rule never becomes true. Because you are already present at 00:00 and the $variable is 1.
The light will then only turn on when you was absent previously.

just a hint for general use: i prefer to create variables for booleans to avoid redundant expressions (and mistakes!). So in your case I would create a $itsDark-Variable which should be filled by a rule and contains if it is after 30 minutes before sunset starts or before 30 minutes after sunrise ends then set $itsDark to 1 and a rule for the opposite 
if you have a lot of rules and conditions its easier to edit just small parts for all.
Hey,
i think there is an issue when you have a iphone and receive a whatsapp message at night while you sleeping. The message will wake up the phone, switch on your wifi (if wifi is enabled) and pimatic will turn on the lights.
I think u need a variable for the fact that u are at home or you are away.
