who is home

A while back (when I discovered pimatic) I installed the ping module and since my household is composed of only 4 and we all have cell I quickly came up with the $whoishome variable so my wife and I could have a quick glimpse on who is home. I couldn’t figured a smarter way than adding a rule of each scenario so it, looks like so

anyone has a better idea to update the $whoishome variable, it’s rather tedious to add the rules specially with larger number.

Do you think this should go in “features request” ?

I have it simple like this

I use the variable to show how much are at home not who

and I made 2 rules

IF trigger: Telefoon Danny is absent or trigger: Telefoon Beckie is absent or trigger: Telefoon Marcel is absent
THEN $anybodyhome = $anybodyhome - 1

IF trigger: Telefoon Danny is present or trigger: Telefoon Beckie is present or trigger: Telefoon Marcel is present
THEN $anybodyhome = $anybodyhome + 1

When $anybodyhome is 0 then my heating goes to a lower temperature

@incmve that’s very elegant however I like to have the name(s) even though I know it doesn’t really matter to built rules. I am sure someone will read this and will have an idea.

Looks nice, I do something like you do.
I set “alarmmode on” when nobody is at home.

But some mobile phones drop their wifi connection so now and then for 30 seconds. I don’t know why but they do.

I solved that by creating a variable for each mobile phone and set the value of that variable to 1 when a mobile phone is absent for 90 seconds and restore it to 0 when a mobile phone is present again.

I check these variables to see I a mobile phone is realy absent

This way you need 2 extra rules per mobile phone.

Maybe there is a smarter way to do this?

@lschip You don’t need this complicated way with tons of rules to check absence;
you can use the great easy way @incmve stated.

Then create a first rule which checks the value of “$anybodyhome is 0” for longer than some minutes.
This assures that absence is given if some minutes (in my example 2 Minutes) no mobile is connected (online). It’s the other way round
First Rule:
IF $anybodyhome is 0 for 2 minutes THEN set $alarmmode to “on”

And a second rule which immediate switch off alarm mode if $anybodyhome gets greater than 0 (at least someone is in…)
IF $anybodyhome is not 0 THEN set $alarmmode to “off”

if seb is absent and alina is absent and inka is absent and stefan is absent then set $message = "Nobody at home"

not sure if you can join strings in this way though…
