Shutter / Protocol EV1527

Hi,

I’m completely new to pimatic and this board. Yesterday I contacted you via facebook and you gave me the advice to state my issues / request here.

Situation:
I recently bought a lot of new toys for big kids. That includes a beamer, a new AVR and an electrical shutter screen for my livingroom.
Unfortunatetly the shutter works with RF, so it isn’t possible to control it with my harmony.

I’ve started to look for a solution and found pilight. So I dig up my dusted RPi and ordered RF modules. Starting pilight-receive showed me some results when I triggered the remote of my screen. Unfortunately it uses the protocol EV1527 which isn’t fuly supported right now by pilight. That means it is able to receive but not the send something.

I’m a developer too. But I’m not really familiar with linux and C / C++.

Question:
Is it possible to do that with pimatic too? Starting pilight-debug gave me the raw output. But it isn’t possible to use them in the webfrontend. I would be happy if it just receives an IR from my harmony and sends the RF to my screen.

The Screen has 3 commands: UP - DOWN - STOP.
The down-command is set up to a specific stop position. So there is no need to set an interval via Pimatic (would be nice to program different screen formats in the future )

I don’t know if this is the correct category for such a question. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

What I will try when I’m back home is to install the pimatic-shellExecute plugin.
Maybe I can execute bash files which contain “pilight-send -raw” commands.

What do you think about it?

I would do that for every button:

• UP => shutterUp.sh

• DOWN => shutterDown.sh

• STOP => shutterStop.sh

@Partovic Hi, welcome to the Pimatic Forum! Do you have a remote-control for your shutter device? If yes, you may also want to try pimatic-homeduino (I recommend to use the variant with Arduino). According to the following thread, I think EV1527 should be supported, but I have not looked into this closely. http://forum.pimatic.org/topic/451/ev1527-rt1527-fp1527-hs1527-and-ht12e-encoding

EDIT: Having looked into the again I am no longer sure if EV1527 is supported by homeduino. Please tcheck the following issue for updates: https://github.com/pimatic/rfcontroljs/issues/55

For the time being you are probably better off using pimatic-shell-execute with pilight-send as you suggested.

@mwittig Hi mwittig, thanks for your reply! I will check that later when I’m home. And yes, I have a remote-control for the shutter. I’ve noticed that defining buttons and then use a ruleset would be the best solution for now (if no “native” support for ev1527 is granted right now). No need for states. Just fire and forget, like the remote-control does. I will report my progress here!

Edit: https://github.com/pimatic/rfcontroljs/blob/master/protocols.md mentions “shutter5” which is “eSmart”, like mine. It says “Supports: none”. But more if I’m able to verify that by myself!

Ah, ok. Interesting. According to https://github.com/pimatic/rfcontroljs/blob/master/protocols.md eSmart should be supported (shutter5), however, I am not sure it applies for the model you have. Unfortunately, the whole stuff is not documented well. Should you have time to investigate using pimatic-homeduino please let us know about your findings.

I’m having a motor screen from reflecta that had a 433 mhz remote too.
I replaced the external motor control box with the up/down/stop buttons (that your mimoto120 should have too) with an intertechno itl500. to operate the screen I am using a wall switch. works perfectly and can be controlled manually via switch, via pimatic and if you want to you can also operate via harmony if using a marmitec pyramid or the light manager from jbmedia.

@leader21 hi. I already thought about it. but that would be the last exit for me if nothing else works. trying to keep the warrenty as long as possible. bought the screen last month

i didn’t care about warranty since i was able to open the control box very easy and changing the wiring without any harm. hoping for you that the ev1527 protocol will work soon

Hey, just my progress for now:

• figured out which raw codes are working.
• managed to use the codes for “UP”, “DOWN” and “STOP” with plight-send -p raw.
• try’d to get pimatic-homeduino work. But didn’t figured out how to set up without haven actually an Arduino. Any useful tutorials for me?
• added “DummyShutter” to pimatic and use rules with pimatic-shell-execute to execute my .sh-files “shutterUp.sh, shutterDown.sh and shutterStop.sh”. Works for now.

Still open:

• pimatic-homeduino to use native ev152
• pimatic-lirc to control shutter with my harmony: Didn’t worked. LIRC is running and receives commands from the remote but pimatic shows command and remote variable as null. Any ideas? What am I missing?

EDIT: @sweetpi: would be nice if DummyShutter has a “STOP” button too. Most shutter remotes have one of those

for now I’m really happy with the bash / shell execute solution.
But I’m stuck with pimatic lirc…
Pimatic Variables alway say: $lirc.remote: null; $lirc.command: null.
So no commands are recognized by pimatic.

Does anyone have some good advices for me?

EDIT: Another question: Does anyone have experience with the MCE IR-Receiver via USB? Would be perfect to let my RPi stored in my TV bench and place the IR-Receiver outside of it.

Reconfigured LIRC. Now it is detected by pimatic and works perfect! Now my harmony can control the shutter within Actions thank you very much. thinking about buying an arduino to get things a little cleaner. for now it is perfect!

You can use a “ButtonsDevice” with three buttons to solve this relative easily.
