Hey folks!
What do you think about an Android Widget to display variables or switches and maybe some more stuff?
I have no skills for that but maybe there’s someone who knows about how to code …
Cheers!

@leader21 Personally, I think the Web Interface is good enough for now and thanks to WebVIew it is very easy to wrap the Web UI into an Android App. However, if there is an Android developer who would like to develop an advanced UI including the floorplan dashboard or similar, I’ll highly appreciate this.
It would be smashing to have something similar to OpenRemote, for example. See >>>>>> Open Remote Demo Video. As we are taking about OpenRemote which is also open source … it would be possible to integrate Pimatic with OpenRemote, but probably, you don’t want to run two competing home automation servers in your home?!

I’m an Android developer by day, and very interested in having a native Android UI. I’ve been poking around with it for a few days and have a (very rough) UI going already. Here’s a screenshot:

If people are interested in following along, I can remove my private information and put it up on github right away (even though it’s very incomplete).
Looks nice, a lot of people are waiting for such app!

This would be great. I can image other developers are happy to join the initiative!

Wow! Haven’t thought about such a quick response!! Well @mwittig you are right, the webUI is very good and plain view. I was just thinking about easily displaying some main information on the android gui via widget but a complete app would be great either imho. Therefore I (and many more users too) am very interested in your further development @dgmltn !! Just go ahead and tinker around

Here’s my initial work, up on GitHub. @sweetpi and I are trying to figure out how to best combine it with what they’ve already been working on so we can have one awesome app.
This app looks very nice and clean!
Is there already a .apk version? I want to test it on my android tablet that I have on the wall. The web-app is sometimes responding very slow.
Just download android studio load the file from github and click make file. Than put the apk to your phone and install it
What about combinin ng things with pimatic-android from sweetpi? Ive tested it yesterday, some things are working great from the moment

Yes, this is the plan!

This is not easy, I know. You’ll also have to set your pimatic server and username/password in Network.java. We’ll get it fixed up soon.
Yea, i configured the network.java but the app keeps crashing.
For me it works.
any news about that ? cant wait for a new version

What features are you specifically waiting for?
The android app.
I’m working on integrating the account signup / configuration from @sweetpi , after that we can see about getting an .apk going.
a Widget would be awesome! Then I could display some temperature values on my phone, without opening the site/app itself.
A update interval should be a option, because some variables are update every minute.

For some users NetIO may be an interesting alternative, in particular for custom UIs. See post on NetIOhttp://forum.pimatic.org/topic/634/pimatic-netio
