i use this scipt to login via ssh it waits 0.3 sec. write the password wait 0.3 sec. and send a command.
scriptname is yourscriptname.expect
#!/usr/bin/expect
spawn ssh 192.168.0.15
expect "password:"
sleep 0.3
send "YOURPASSWORD\r"
sleep 0.3
send "YOURCOMMAND\r"
interact
this is for example to login to my nas via telnet:
#!/usr/local/bin/expect
spawn telnet 192.168.0.18
expect "login:"
send "YOURUSERNAME\n"
expect "Password:"
send "YOURPASSWORD\n"
send "YOURCOMMAND\n"
interact
and than with the rule
IF Button x is pressed THEN execute "expect -f /home/pi/yourscriptname.expect >/dev/null 2>&1"
dont forget to make the script executable.

and if the backup think runs, please post the full solution.

i use it to turn of the nas when PC etc. is offline. with command “halt” ! 
@dk00000 could you please post how to you make the backup/Sd Image?
does it work for you ?

this is my script:

in pimatic:
if buttonX is pressed then execute "sh /tmp/backup2.sh"
but you have to install sshpass.
next improvements:
-check if NAS is available via ping
-check if it was successfull or not

That means your script makes a full backup from your sdcard to the nas?
Could you discribe the script line a little bit?
this is the successmessage in pimatic:
error [pimatic-shell-execute]: 31116288+0 Datensätze ein 31116288+0 Datensätze aus 15931539456 Bytes (16 GB) kopiert, 1870,81 s, 8,5 MB/s
maybe someone can answer why the message is classified as “error” - i think its a bug in pimatic or the plugin because the script finishs successfull.

the script makes a full backup from sd card (in my raspberry) to the nas (192.168.0.12) via ssh with the user “admin” to the folder /raspberry
the filename is image_currentdate.img

i get an error too.
my nas has no ssh, it uses telnet. so i solved it like that:
ive mounted my Nas to /root/backups
so edit etc/fstab and add this
//192.168.0.18/admin/Raspberry /root/backups cifs username=USER,password=PASSWORD,rw,soft
now your nas will be mounted on raspberry boot.
were 192.168.0.18 is my nas, /admin/Raspberry the Folder on the Nas and /root/backups is the folder on the raspberry were you can find your NAS.
after that i execute the script to make an image to the /root/backups folder wich is now the NAS/admin/Raspberry folder, works perfect.
If it is Friday and 21:00 and MyNAS is present then execute "sudo /root/programme/backup.sh" and log "Starte Raspberry Backup"
Script:

dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=~/backups/raspberrypi_$(date +'%Y-%m-%d').img

@dk00000 & @p4co86 It is the dd command writing transfer statics to stderr. You can suppress this by redirecting stderr output for the dd command. For example, see http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/6699/how-do-i-suppress-dd-output Note, however, the syntax used for redirection won’t work in your case as it will redirect both stdout and stderr and you have no “of” option set. Looking at the plugin code I think the general assumption that output to stderr is an error is not correct. If you think this an issue feel free to report it on github.

another way to backup your important files like the config.json:

just add a rule and let back it up every day

I have copied the script of dk00000 
after I my Medion NAS have learned ssh 
But i must added “…/” before the NAS Path. Also:

Now it is running by a hand test.
But my question: Why should I secure " /dev/null " if the backup the complete HDD is secured?
I use a externel HDD for RPi, only the Root Patition is on a SD Card. Can I backup both (sd card [mmcblk0p1]and HDD[sda]) with a Rule.
Maybe with:
sudo dd if=/dev/sda 2> /dev/mmcblk0p1 | sshpass -p password ssh admin@192.168.178.35 "cat > ../i-data/0faecd45/admin/raspberry/image_$(date +'%Y-%m-%d').img"
But as it is with a restore?

2> /dev/null simply means that error output of the dd command shall be sent to the null device ( discard every error messages).
If you use your version you will send this error messages to the sdcard, what will not have much sense.
Best for backing up both will be to use two separate commands.
