I have observed the output of openweather plugin for month now and it shows temperature, humidity and so one more or less correct but rain and snow is always 0. Is this a bug or not supported anymore?

openweather plugin always shows zero rain

Also with direct API call with webbrowser I can not find a rain or snow entry. So I guess it is not delivered anymore from openweathermap.org
Example:
http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?q=London&units=metric&appid=<myAppID>delivers
{"coord":{"lon":-0.13,"lat":51.51},"weather":[{"id":801,"main":"Clouds","description":"few clouds","icon":"02d"}],"base":"stations","main":{"temp":14.49,"pressure":1017,"humidity":87,"temp_min":13,"temp_max":16},"visibility":10000,"wind":{"speed":4.6,"deg":250},"clouds":{"all":20},"dt":1503559200,"sys":{"type":1,"id":5093,"message":0.003,"country":"GB","sunrise":1503550860,"sunset":1503601402},"id":2643743,"name":"London","cod":200}
If this can be verified, it would be good to remove these entries from the user interface.

I found the following thread which is suggesting that rain data is only included in the weather phenomena has happenend for the time of measurement. Actually, I have checked that and I don’t think this statement is true. Just checked the data for Berlin which indicated weather status “rain” but no rain data included. Looking at my history data I can also see the rain data is missing since months for my location.
Please consider creating a support ticket at the openweather service desk. It might help if several users complain individually about this. Meanwhile, you may also want to have a look at pimatic-metar-weather and pimatic-dwd which both provide precipitation data for many locations.

For the time being I’d leave the plugin code as is. A nice feature for the future is to be able to choose the data items which should be tracked - pimatic-metar-weather and pimatic-dwd already provide this feature

@mwittig Thanks for the info and the bug report to openweather.org. The alternatives you mentioned are not providing weather data nesr enough to my city. So for now I will wait and hope that openweathermap.org will correct this malfunction soon.
If you have some news please report it here.
