(0.9) Debug log available from API? Add devices from API?

Hi! I have used my own frontend for pimatic for some time, and am really happy with it. Of course I use Pimatic frontend itself often, when something needs to be changed etc.

What I am curious about in the upcoming 0.9 version, is that we should be able to add devices from GUI. That’s huge. Because of this, I might try to extend my own frontend into its own “application”, just to teach myself, and share it with others if successful.

The goal would be to

• Read Pimatic-homeduino log from API -> Device ID and unit ID, and protocol
• Add Device to configuration with API
• Add predefined other devices (built in this second application, and sending compiled device with API)

You already can add a device via api in 0.8
But updating is not supported atm

Well I’ll be damned. I haven’t noticed before.
Also, I digged deeper into the API docs, it seems I can query for the debug log from there as well!
(/api/database/messages)

How do I add a device via the 0.8Gui?
Yes, there is a button “add device” on the devices page in Edit mode but when I press/tap it, it says “Sorry that operation is not supported yet”

This is not possible in 0.8
But you can add a device via API (in 0.8). If you want an example in python, just pm me.

I really want the deviceupdate via API. I hope this comes with 0.9
