Read data from Smart Meter using P1 USB cable

The problem is to get a log from the smartmeter Pi to the pimatic Pi. Somehow the smartmeter stops when the serialport is approached by another program or command. So i’m thinking of letting the smartmeter write it’s data to the Pimatic database-server. And move on from there.

There might be a way to solve my problem but therefor i need a plugin or script that allows an iframe in a button device at the bottom of a page and not as a link in the menu.

@leader21 after some time still no result with my P1 meter. i’m trying to get a logfile from the serialport. i used this cronjob */1 * * * * /usr/bin/cu -l /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 115200 --parity=none > /home/pi/smartmeter.log but the log is not correct, missing a lot of data. I tried to set parity to even but got less data. Now might be looking for a script.sh that logs my P1 port to a logfile every 10 sec. and renews last data.

@ funip, I used the mbsolget_p1_a1.py script from http://www.embezon.nl/blog/uitlezen-slimme-meter/. This script will check on filesize of the log. If the filesize < ### byte it will wait for the next telegram.

Something else: I’m trying to add the total gas usage to pimatic. The telegram looks like this:

0-1:24.2.1(151018210000S)(00095.324m3)*

So far, I managed to change the matchcode to:

0-1:24\.2\.1\x28([0-9]+\.[0-9]+).m3

But it doesn’t work due to the middle part: (151018210000S). I get stuck on the meaning of x28, [0-9], + etc. Any tips?

Oops, just found out it’s just regex. Found the correct matchcode:

0-1:24\.2\.1\x28.*\x28([0-9]+\.[0-9]+).m3\)

Just connected my smartmeter to my RPi with an USB to RJ11 cable. With the command
cat /dev/ttyUSB0"
I get some data from my meter and with
cat /dev/ttyUSB0 > stroom.log"
the data is written into a log file (/home/pi/stroom.log).

Anyone with an idea what is going wrong?

A little off-topic, but a couple of days I stumbled upon https://github.com/jantenhove/P1-Meter-ESP2866 . Since I’m not an developer, I am not sure if it is possible to modify this sketch to send the meter data to pimatic.

Before I give it a try: should it be possible to log meter data through the pimatic API?
