Trigger rule manually

I have some rules like “IF it’s 0.00 THEN do some stuff” to reset some variables for example.
Now I am wondering if it is possible to trigger a rule manually so I don’t have to wait until to the time given or if the provided action takes effect or trigger the THEN part if needed.

or maybe this way at the rules list

or maybe combined - first activate triggering via checkbox, then having a button at the rules list to manually trigger this specific rule …

That’s possible with CURL accessing the Pimatic API. (But I guess you want to add this feature into the pimatic rules page. Correct?)

So just for the records: At the bash you just need to execute e.g.:

curl -X POST  --header "Content-Type:application/json"  \
     --data '{ "actionString" : "set $regen-alt to $regenmesser.rain and $regen-neu to 0", "simulate" : false}'  \ 
     --user "admin:yourpassword" http://raspberrypi/api/execute-action

Just replace admin:yourpassword and http://raspberrypi/
with your settings.

and yes :

guess you want to add this feature into the pimatic rules page. Correct?

correct - so you can easily trigger rules by demand from the gui.
it’s not only this one rule, so having api calls for every rule would be some script collection

also if you are having a comand panel at the wall for operating pimatic it’s more easier.
or after changing batteries eg. at the rain sensor to reset the rules etc …

maybe it’s not that hard to implement, but this needs to be done at the core I guess.

why you dont change your rules and add a buttonsdevice?

e.g.
IF its 0.00 OR buttonx=pressed THEN do som stuff…

yes, thats an option hotwo trigger manually via device.
but I still am of the opinion that a “native” solution would be the best and easiest ^^
having button devices for each rule and maybe a rule for a buttons device and so on … this blows up the whole gui and rules section.
also everytime a new rule for another variable or device is being created you will have to adapt or create a buttons device. well, for me / us who know about rules and devices this is not the point. it’s more some kind of user-friendliness, if you know what I mean.
