Homeduino - crash every day after few hours
-
Okay. Then I would suggest to flash the nano again. But first update every plugin (if not already done).
Post the flashing process here. Hopefully we can track the problem down together.
-
did you try to add some more time between the dimming commands?
lets say 20 sec instead of 10 sec?
do you have any other rf devices from which pimatic receives any transmissions?
maybe transmissions interfere with each other and homeduino crashes?!
don’t know, just giving my two cents … listening to rf transmissions comes at first place, then sending, as far as i was told.pimatic v0.9 has been released!

@noxx
Had the same problems. After changing the nano with a new one all problems were solved.
Seems there are some bad one on the market. -

Maybe again troubles with the ftdi chip
yes, that was my first thought @Willy
The nano could make some trouble. There were users reporting problems with ftdi chipsets. Have had several ch340 nano running without any trouble at all.I know about nanos from an amazon with ftdi that didn’t work properly.

How i Know, which Arduino is good and which is bad?
sweedpi has a link on his page to amazon

i read on some internet threads, its better to buy a Nano with
CH340G,
i try it now with this one

However go for a ch340 nano and try again …
You can also use an UNO or mega or even other arduinos. But the nanos are mostly the cheapest and smallest solution. If you use another arduino you will have to change the board tag in the Makefile.http://forum.pimatic.org/topic/202/4-homeduino-433-mhz-sending-receiving-and-even-more
The nano from your above link looks good.

Did someone consider that this could be a power problem? The Pi can be sometimes a little bit unstable about the USB power.
If you are using an 1.2A power supply, consider to try a 2A power supply. (most new smartphones have them) -
Noxx hardware should be ok. Pi2, psu with 2A, 3400rf (see first post from this threat)

Oh okay. Somehow I didn’t read about the psu, sorry.

don’t know, just giving my two cents … listening to rf transmissions comes at first place, then sending, as far as i was told.Changed yesterday from 10sec to 20sec -> homeduino (not pimatic, webgui works) crash after 6 hours.
i must wait for my new arduino. -
Got the same problem when i use an arduino…so i switched back to the gpio’s of the pi and it works. When i install wiringpi for the dht22 sensor plugin, my arduino homeduino didnt send a signal too.
Maybe you use the gpio’s till the arduino arrives.

so, since yesterday 4:00 runs now the new Arduino Nano with CH340G Chip.
-> no crashes16 hours stabil, my new record
For other pimatic-neerds, i use this one now:
E-TING Mini USB Nano V3.0 ATmega328 16M 5V Micro-Controller CH340G Board für Arduino

Nice to hear!
With the ftdi nano you can tinker around a bit. There are nice arduino projects.pimatic v0.9 has been released!

where can i find the infos about the BOARD_TAG?
I had now a Arduino Uno.
Is
BOARD_TAG = uno
right
? -
For arduino uno your Tag is ok!
Have a closer look at the homeduino tutorial that’s quoted in your above threat. You will find all information about flashing homeduino to an arduino there.
But as I said, board_tag is ok for an uno.You can see all supported hardware when using the command
make show_boards
at the command line in the homeduino directorypimatic v0.9 has been released!

THX, UNO works fine. Not with the many problems that had with the nano.
Now i must look for free Pins, i will also use the Motor shield.
