No auto complete here, not even from when i begin to type send (other than the mail plugin).
Still no luck with:
send_tv_command KEY_MUTE to samsung-tv
I might have f***ed something up, or was it more than:
package.json
samsung-tv-2016.coffee
samsung-tv-key-commands.coffee
That you updated? Maybe i am missing a file.
@simonbove to be honest, i made those changes fairly late and night, and the rules was the very last thing I did, (and not sure if I even tried to use).
so here it is, and my apologies I stated this wrong earlier, the pattern is send samsung_tv_command
that should autocomplete
@amit-patel It appears to be working:
send samsung_tv_command KEY_MUTE to samsung-tv
The only thing left is for me to get home and test if the tv is receiving the commands.
I’ll get back to you when i have tested it on saturday
Thank you again

Which makes it even more impressive. Many thanks for your update! I will report as soon as I was able to test it.
@amit-patel I cloned your development branch and activated the plugin, but I am unable to add a device. Different from what @simonbove did, I did not incorporate the changes into the old plugin but simply cloned the development branch. Does this make any sense to you?
Edit: Sorry, I missed the “npm install” after cloning it; ws was not installed. Sorry.
Edit2: It seems to work, but I cannot test it as I am not yet home. I got this message in the error logs:
error [pimatic-samsung-tv-2016]: [TypeError: this.emit is not a function]
Sorry, I doesn’t work for me. All I get is the error “this.emit is not a function” in the logs when I try to send a command to the TV…
Okay I have now tested it on my TV at home.
It is working, and I have added a few extra keys to the plugin which was missing. For example KEY_PAUSE and KEY_PLAY.
But the plugin is giving some errors, although it is working.
I’m getting the emit error as above.
Further more I’m getting below errors when using the keys, but the TV is receiving the commands and it is working.
2018-02-24 20:24:06error [pimatic]: rule pause-samsung-tv-2 error executing an action: Array.isArray result
20:24:04error [pimatic]: rule play-samsung-tv error executing an action: Array.isArray result
@simonbove It works for me too (now that I use a normal buttondevice instead of a shellbutton), but I have the same log messages as simonbove
Sorry for warming this up, but I don’t get it.
I installed the plugin, entered the IP of my TV and that is all I can do in my Pimatic. There is no device to add, there is nothing I can set up in rules. If I add a rule like “When Button is pressed then send…” all it let’s me send is a prowl message. Thats it. Am I missing something?
The git-page says in the important part “tbd” so I’m a bit stuck on this…
Can somebody help me or provide me some example config-code or smth like that?
Greetings

If you are referring to “pimatic-samsung-tv-2016” you should see a “SamsungTV_2016_Switch” device type. Make sure you have restarted pimatic after setting up the plugin. If the device type is not include in the list of device classes (create new device) most likely the plugin bailed out with an error. In case check you log file.
"It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law.", Hofstadter's Law
yep, log file did it
17:35:36.887 [pimatic] info: Loading plugin: "pimatic-samsung-tv" (0.9.0)
17:35:36.910 [pimatic] error: Unexpected token {
But I honestly don’t know what to do with that information
The 2016-plugin isn’t my case just because my TV is pre-2016 built
@mwittig Sorry to warm this old thread up, but can you give me a short hint on using your pimatic-samsung-tv-plugin?
I can’t figure it out how to use it to switch on and switch off the TV.
I am as far as this:
…and that’s where I’m stuck:
Would you be so kind to help me out with a idiot-proof guide how to make a rule for turning power on and turnin power off? Thank you!!!
