New Raspberry Pi 2 B with 900 Mhz quadcore CPUand 1GB RAM out now!
-
I will receive mine this monday, i hope that pimatic will benefit of it in term of performance and stability…
It will also give me a chance to remove mu HUB and the few cables…
@sweebee did you reinstall everything or just using the same installation than with the previous rasp (wiringX: hardware not supported, drive me to think to a problem linked to the homeduino and not the rasp itself)
EDIT is see that you are using GPIO method, so i think you already triple check your wiring?pimatic rocks!

The wiring is okay, just replaced the board from the old pi to the new one. I used the last version of raspbian.

[pimatic-homeduino] debug: data: “wiringX: hardware not supported”
I’ve to update wiringX to make the new pi work.

allright, after some testings i am really excited!
the speed of booting and starting programs is in such a way faster than at the pi1.
the installation of pimatic from scratch only took few minutes.
restarting the pimatic service is going at lightspeed now
if the speedup of the pi has any further influence or advantages on pimatic needs to be investigated.actually i used the opportunity to switch from sd-card to an external hdd.
the next days will show, if i’m still that enthusiastic…(little note : the actual wheezy distribution brings also minecraft for pi with it, so what about a pimatic minecraft plugin )
pimatic v0.9 has been released!

after a week of testing i am still excited! the new pi performs in such a way better than its forerunner model. haven’t had any issues, no speed lags, no performance problems, pimatic and the frontend are faster. I would say an overall improvement!
here’s my cpu graph from the past 7 days, have had approx 2 % cpu load, except the one peak with 23% (actually I don’t know what was up there …)
on the pi there’s only pimatic running and no other additional services except the ftp daemon.
by now i can recommend to go for the new raspberry pi 2! I didn’t regret it

@leader21 waiting on mine, after I’ve read your post saying how fast pimatic starts up and npm install.
Pimatic, smart home made by smart folks, for the rest of us!
-
Pi 2 is great. It replaced my x86 mediacenter and its running Kodi very smooth. Pimatic is running on the background.
-
I can also confirm big improvement with the rasp 2!!!
pimatic rocks!

My PI2 is already lost!
It’s claimed by my son because he is playing a lot with “Scratch” on Pi-Desktop and there is an dramatic increasement of speed in that!
Think I have to buy a new one …
