Hi there,
I’d like to use the shell-execute plugin to send commands to a uart-device (not homeduino).
Simple things work already with the ShellSwitch (for instance "onCommand": "echo on > /dev/ttyUSB0")
But what would be great, is to convert the ShellSensor into a ShellDimmer. In that case the value you set in the dimmer will be given to the shell command. I tried this with the shellsensor, but it seems that it cannot take variable to process.
Here is the config for the shell sensor. Original the last line is "command": "echo 42", which is of course the answer of everything, but in my case I’d like to change 42 to a dynamic value, like this:
{
"id": "temperature_shell",
"name": "Room Temperature",
"class": "ShellSensor",
"attributeName": "name",
"attributeType": "number",
"attributeUnit": "°C",
"command": "echo $dummy-dimmer.temperaturSetpoint"
},
But this doesn’t work. Any ideas for a workaround?
