Feature Request - RGB MQTT Device

Hello everybody,
would it be possible for one of the programmers to implement an RGB device via mqtt-plugin?
Or are there other “solutions” to freely choose colors via mqtt?

I already found an issue on GitHub … without much success

Not at all so far, i only use RGB and if i want to change the colors i do it via the shelly app.
I haven’t found a way to use pimatic so far

Did you try the extended version of iMarvinS/pimatic-led-light ?
If you tried and its not working, changing a few lines of code could solve that.

not yet, I’ll take a look at it tomorrow. would the code adjustment in the mqtt plugin also be feasible?

In the mqtt plugin its not an adjustment but a bigger extension (like the one done by iMarvinS in pimatic-led-light).
To give you an idea. If you want to reuse pimatic-mqtt you need to add from iMarvinS/pimatic-led-light: the ui part and the devices/mqtt.coffee code (with some adjusments).

I used the work of iMarvinS on pimatic-led-light for an extension on pimatic-mqtt.

If you install pimatic-mqtt-ext (version 0.9.1) you can add a MqttRGB device.
That device is made for the ShellyRGBW2. See the minimal instruction

Its not tested (i don’t have Shelly’s) and probably there’s some fine tuning needed. So let me know the results.

Did you clear the browser cache after creating/adding the MqttRGB device?

of course not

after that the errors were gone, I had to adjust the on / off topic:

topiconoff:
shellies / shellyrgbw2-<deviceid> / color / 0 / set

on / off message:
{“turn”: “on”}
{“turn”: “off”}

that works for me, when selecting the light, only black is displayed in the box. Selection etc. also works with the brightness setting. so I can already live with the version

If you select the color picker, you see only a black box?

On the topiconoff.
For the on/off only, i use the topic “shellies/shellyrgbw2-<deviceid>/color/0/command” with payload “on” or “off” (as is defined in the API docs)

but for me the /command dident work. the way with /set works perfektly, btw i can send a effekt with the on toggle

the problem with the box is, when i picked a color i cant get out the box i must push on a free space on a screen, after that the box is black, not in the selected color

I will change the colorpicker, with a button to close it.
Do i need to add the effect and make the value configurable in the config?

I don’t think that’s necessary. since i have to adjust my rules now, i noticed one more thing. I can no longer “query” the status in my rules
