Anyone maintaining the Hue plugin?

Hi everyone.

Merry Christmas and soon a happy new year to all.

I just bought a new Philips Hue hub and tried to set it up in pimatic.

But I keep getting this error.

hueapi.nupnpSearch is not a function

This happens when I try to setup the hub with auto discovery function as described in the plugin page.

I suppose Philips have updated their hub since the plugin was last updated 3 year ago.

Anyone able to update the plugin or is it a lost cause?

I can see that other people also have problems. But don’t know how I can use their solution hmmm

Did you try to switch to pimatic-hue-zll. That could solve the issue.

Sorry I were not more precise in my previous post.
It is the pimatic-hue-zll plugin I’m referring to.

The plugin looks not maintained anymore and the node-hue library is developed to a new major version. The plugin needs to be adapted for that.

You could try to force the use of an older hue library.

UPDATE
Install the legacy hue library with

npm install node-hue-api-v2-shim

in the file hue.coffee, update the line

  hueapi = require 'node-hue-api'

to

  hueapi = require 'node-hue-api-v2-shim"

Be careful and execute the install command only in the pimatic-hue-zll directory!

But I’m afraid to break anything.
So instead I have moved the Hue lights to Deconz. I got the Hue disco app working on deconz. So it is only the sunrise effect feature I’m missing now. I think I might be able to make that using rules in pimatic.
Maybe the plugin should be marked as no longer working in the plugin page?

Hi, Deconz is a better and generic solution for Zigbee devices.
This plugin should be marked as outdated.
I hope potential user read the forum

Yes you are definitely right. It is just missing this nice to have scenes, but with a little effort I guess I can make them myself in pimatic 😊

You still can use scenes by configure them in Deconz (Phoscon app).
Scenes can be added as separate raspbee device.

I found it. Works perfectly 😀

I was using the Hue plugin but now use ‘zigbee2mqtt’ and then control the Hue devices via MQTT
