Only down side with that device is it doesn’t reset.
so if 5mm rain falls today and tomorrow 10mm it will send 15mm.
it will add up until you reset the device, no problem if you like to know how much rain has fallen since the device was powered on.
but I wanted to know how much rain per day so I worked with variables, $newvalue - $yesterdayvalue = $todaysvalue

working with variables seems to be ok for me.
but why don´t you use this anymore? is there something “bettter” ?what unit is the value ? mmRain per m² ?

Got this rain meter working with following config:

yes, it’s working fine on that config. the only thing i did is to set the variables value to 0 at midnight since the meter counts endless and not in a 24h interval.

One option is to set the Raspbian timezone settings to use UTC rather than local time. However, this will apply for all for time settings with pimatic (and other application you may have on that system) .

But can someone send me an example of how to do it with the variable. Have the rain sensor and would like to see the day, weeks, month and year values displayed.
