Milight Miboxer wl5 5in1 led, works in pimatic?
Hi,
Any chance to control a
Milight Miboxer wl5 in pimatic.
Is a controler for any led strip.
Have Wi-Fi for app and echo and 2,4ghz for remote control.

As @bertreb stated milight-reloaded is the starting point as the product description of the Miboxer WL5 claims the product to be compatible with FUT089, FUT088, FUT096, FUT092, FUT007, FUT091, T1, T2, T3, T4, B8, B1-B4 remotes. This way, the WL5 should work with MilightFullColorZone which maps to the command set of the FUT092 remote. It is important however, to pair the WL5 with the correct remote model.
Well, that’s the theory given that the product works as advertised. On the base library node-milight-promise I have written for the plugin a user raised an issue regarding the YL5 device which appears to be very similar to the MiBoxer. He said it did not work with the existing code and reverse engineer a different command set he promised to release soon. However, I am not yet sure whether or not he paired the device as advised.

Yes I use this plugin with other milight products the iBox2.
I have a wall remote control the version is the b3 that I have added to the wl5.
I become not add in pimatic.
Can wirte me a small tutorial to add this device to try.
Ok, I can control over the iBox2.
Pair work fine, I have first paired with the wall remote control b3 and then in pimatic with over the IBox2. This is a work around for me.
Can I connect directly to the wl5?

Sorry, I don’t know the B3 remote and I am not sure it will work with the plugin. FUT089 (Milight8ChannelFullColorZone) and FUT092 (MilightFullColorZone) should work,

Directly work not for me, I can only the wl5 pair with the iBox2 over pimatic and can control the lights and colors.

Ok, I had a look at the MiBoxerApp and it looks like this is using a different protocol for the communication between the App and the integrated WiFi hub of the device. As I don’t have a WL5 device I am currently not able to reverse engineer the protocol myself, but it looks like other folks are working on it. On the net I found some posts suggesting the Tuya protocol is used, but that’s not for sure. I’ll track various sources and keep you posted.
