Change to homey.app ?

Hello everybody,

i am a pimatic user since the first days/weeks of pimatic and now i feel, that pimatic is not more under contruction. After i change to pimatic v.0.9 i have more an more Problems. Plugins are not up to date oder plugin X need node Y an Plugin a different node. At the first versions pimatic, pimatic has a look of the plugins. But now, i feel, that pimatic is dead. We have 2 or 3 DEV they have a look of a coupple of plugins, but the can’t update all…

That is why i think about a change to homey, it looks good and at the first look, it looks like that i can use all of my devices. What are you thinking about this one?

The status of Pimatic is being discussed on several threads. As we al know is wasn’t and still isn’t a plug and play commercial system. It’s more a system for users with some dev genes It has a functional ui and i’m not looking at it much because most of the usage in my home is automated.
There will never be a system that is the everlasting solution, so I believe over a longer period, that 2-3 systems will co-exist and work together. My Pimatic setup (partly node 4 and partly node10) is working and will be one of them, the other system will popup in the future.

I’ve got a Homey (standard) and used it for a short period. For me the system is too much an all inclusive controller for in the living room. Thats not my idea. I want my automation out of sight, more modular and scripting type of rules and configuration.

For users with a need for all inclusive and support Homey is a nice solution.

I’m not a dev. Yes i can a little bit of php, mysql and i can read a little of code. But thats all.

I see, that plugins are not uptodate an it take more and more time to get a plugin running without errors (mysensors, HUE-zll ist not working correct, Homeduino is broken) i spent to much time to get the plugins running. The Community is dead i think. I see allways one or two of the same people how is answering questions.

The point is, i need a hub what is under contruction - a hub that works with a community in the background. The most people here are living with older installation like “never touch a running system” - but iam looking every Time for the newest shit of Smarthome.

I see the same as you schmucke. I really like pimatic and for now it works with all my smart stuff. And I have a lot of them. Sure it would be nice to see a community like ioBroker, openHub or Hass.io. But we have many good guys here which makes some magic to let the system keep alive.
I really don’t like to move to an other system. I am working every day on my pimatic system, because I have so much ideas.

But I have no problems to make stuff working via workarounds.

I had as well an eye on Homey. A friend is using it. From my point of view it is really nice, but to limited (for me). I am using many shell scripts which handles operations over the rest api of pimatic. I think this is not possible in that way with homey.
I currently dealing with ioBroker and Hass.io for tests. But as long as Pimatic is supported I will stay, simply because I can handle it blind or/and with many beers in the body…

Same for me, I came here via pilight about five-six years ago and now I’m way to used to all of it. Also a lot of scripts running in the background communicating with pimatic and vice-versa. I really dont want to miss this so I will keep using pimatic as long as possible although I experience some limitations myself already.
Had a look on Hass.io but its way to complicated for me at first sight

I love my pimatic.
I came when it actually already started becoming quiet in the forum, around 4 years ago. But it is the system that I prefer and it is able to run on very limited hardware. Compared to home assistant that needs a powerful pc. I like to minimize my power usage, so being able to run my entire smart home on an old model b is what I love.
Besides I have always received the help I needed when needed… But I too have thought about other systems, but haven’t found any as good as pimatic.

I hope it will work for many years to come 😁
